I think you could get a much better 1B for that. A la Texieira or Pujols. Smoltz is on DL but a stud. Atkins is a 30 HR guy... the only real bright spot for you would be Braun, and his immense upside

Yes ryan braun is equal to or better than john smoltz and garett atkins is alot worse than adrian gonzalez

I would make this trade because Braun is going to qualify in left when a-rod comes off the dl. Plus smoltz is going to the bullpen where you said you were already strong.
