what a wonderful season. despite the disappointment in the playoffs (franchise's first ever appearance) the Atlanta Thrashers were brought to the forefront of Atlanta professional sports. this was a huge step for a franchise that since 1999 had been more or less treading water in terms of profitability. more fan support than ever. I almost guarantee players will want to play in front of the blueland faithful after seeing what a packed Philips Arena is capable of doing.
All in all it was the best season we've ever had. we have a division title to defend. guys...WE KEPT THE DEFENDING STANLEY CUP CHAMPS FROM EVEN MAKING THE PLAYOFFS!! And who knows how we could have done in the playoffs if it wasn't for that one fluke goal in the opening minutes of game 2. Aside from the 7-0 slagging at the garden, we could have won every other game in that series.
I'll start worrying if we have a terrible start and are on the outside looking in. but honestly as a fan since 1999 i'm very proud of what the team has accomplished.
I am still angry and, quite frankly, embarassed to call myself a Thrshers fan. We sould have at least taken 1 of those games. But, we will be back to unleash the fury again next season. BELIEVE IN BLUELAND!
