SERIOUSLY....WTF?!?!? This has been one of the worst officiated games I've seen all year.  Hatcher has gotten away with 2 punches to the face of Penguins, the goal that was clearly a goal that was disallowed, the "diving" call on Ruutu when he got punched in the face?  C'mon! Helen Keller could have called a better game than these guys. Perhaps worse than anything was the stupid, moronic, know-nothing announcers of Versus.  They know nothing about hockey and I am sick of their biased commentary.  Every penatly call against Philly was a bad call,…

With Apologies to Michel Therrien...As some of you may remember, I wrote a blog a couple months back calling for Therrien to be fired if the Pens did not live up to expectations.  (http://www.fannation.com/blogs/post/150595)  I didn't make it clear in the actual blog, but my expecations were that the Pens were at worst the second best team in the Eastern Conference and they had to make it to the conference finals for Therrien to keep his job.Well Therrien shut me right up.  Now I'll be honest; I still don't agree with some of the decisions he made in switching up…

The Montreal Canadians shut-out the New Jersey Devils last night 4-0 to take the lead in the Eastern Conference.  The Penguins are currently in the 4th spot in the tightly contest conference and only 2 pts out of first and 1pt behind the division leading Devils.The Penguins play the Sabres at home tonight at 7:30.  The Penguins will be without Hossa (knee) again, as well as Sykora (back) and Talbot (ankle) for the game tonight.  Hossa did practice yesterday and feels that he will be able to play Sunday against the Flyers.  Bigger news is Talbot's scratch from…

Thought you all might be interested- we're doing an online auction of some rare autographed hockey gear to benefit a friend's cancer treatment. Katie Thomas is a Denver mother fighting Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and we're hoping to raise money to help offset treatment costs. The online auction has a bunch of rare, autographed sports gear including a Mario Lemiuex autographed jersey and Evgeni Malkin autographed cap. All proceeds benefit the Katie Thomas Non-Hodgkins Treatment Fund and the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
