True Big Ten Stories: Penn State

In honor of Anthony E's departure from this site..this True Big Ten Story is going to be Penn State.  So let's get right to it.

Penn State's mascot is the Nittany Lion..and after all of my research I couldn't find any fantastic story about the where the Nittany Lion came from.  That kind of made me sad..but oh well.  Penn State's colors are blue and white.  But, there's a story that says that the colors were black and pink..but, were then changed to blue and white after the colors faded.  

True Big Ten Stories: Ohio State

I've decided to write part two of True Big Ten Stories...for part two I decided to delve into the story of Ohio State University.  Should be much more interesting than last times Northwestern fiasco(just kidding Northwestern). Anyways let's get to the learning.

First of all Ohio State has a proud athletic and I'm jumping out on a limb in saying academic history(just kidding about jumping out on a limb..Ohio State is a good school so calm down Buckeye fans I'm just messing with you).  As a matter of fact Ohio State is one of the three univerisities to win National Titles in football, baseball and basketball.  That honor is shared with Michigan and Cal.  

True Big Ten Stories: Northwestern

I just had a brilliant idea for a series of blogs.  It's called "True Big Ten Stories" and the purpose of this blog will be to talk about the stories behind the various Big Ten universities mascots.  The idea came to me just now as I was finishing up another blog that I was writing.  I'm not sure when I'll do these(weekly...daily etc).  I'll make that decision based on reaction to this first blog.  Why I decided to do this you ask?  Well because I can and I'm bored..and I have down time.  Anyways..I thought that this series could be moderately interesting.  Something that could hopefully entertain you all. I'm getting pretty much all of my information from Wikipedia.  Enough about my creative ideas though..let's get down to it.  I decided to start off with the least popular of all the Big Ten Universities.  That University is Northwestern.
