MLB Awards you wouldn't want to recieve

Okay, we all know the front runners for the awards like MVP (Josh Hamilton, Carlos Quentin, Chase Utley), Cy Young (Cliff Lee, Tim Lincecum) and other awards but here are some made-up awards that you would not want to win.

AL LVP (Least Valuable Player)

C Brandon Inge, Detroit Tigers

Brandon Inge has been completely awful this year, hitting .220 with 39 runs batted in this season, all in 241 at-bats.  Offense hasn't been the only thing he has struggled with, he has been terrible at the defensive side of the ball.  He has man dropped balls and passed balls at catcher this year.  He looks like he is lost out there, in one play last week, an outfielder threw home to try to get a runner out.  Brandon Inge allowed the ball to pass him and then ran realy slowly to the ball that went all the way to the backsto[.  While he was running really slowly, a runner was going home.  Inge suddenly realized that he was there and then threw a wild throw to Nate Robertson who was covering home plate.  He makes tons of mess-ups.  Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski absolutely loves him - he calls him a "tremoundous talent" and claims he will be our catcher for this year and 2009.  Hopefully not, his leadership stinks as well.  Just look at Detroit's record since they traded Pudge Rodriguez and Brandon Inge became our every day catcher . . .

MLB Series to watch (or listen to)

I'll be doing one of these every few days, just some series to watch over the week.  I will also give my 2 cents on how I think the series is going to go.

Detroit Tigers at Texas Rangers

Telivision/Radio: XM 180, Radio

Game Times: Monday at 8:05 pm, Tuesday at 8:05 pm and Wednesday at 8:05 pm

The 2 cents: If you think you have seen high scoring, thrilling games before, you haven't seen anything until you see this series.  These are two teams with high powered offenses that have terrible pitching.  Detroit is fifth in the majors in runs scored, yet they allowed the sixth most runs in the majors.  Texas is first in the majors in runs scored, yet they allowed the most runs runs in the majors.  Sounds like a wild ride.  To add even more offense, the games are going to be played at Texas Stadium, the best hitter's park in the MLB.  Short outfield with the wind blowing towards the fences . . . sounds like a nightmare for the pitchers in a series like this.  Out of the six pitchers that are supposed to start games this series, only one, just one, has an ERA under 5.00 heading into the series.  No misprint.  That pitcher is Armando Galarraga, who has an ERA under 3.20.  It is likely that he won't be getting rocked around.
