I am still a big fan of Jr.'s and would welcome his return with open arms. The Mariners front office won't admit to anything because they don't HAVE a plan. They conveniently got rid of anybody and everybody who didn't kowtow to CEO Howard Lincoln's version of a kinder, gentler baseball club. Howard's only prior experience with baseball was watching it on TV. He's an ex-Nintendo exec. Second in command Chuck Armstrong is a nice enough guy, but for cryin' out loud he used to to DEFEND George Argyros' moves in the old Kingdome days. They almost passed on drafting Ken Griffey Jr. because George wanted some pitcher who never made it past A ball. He wanted to invert the original Mariner trident because, by George, every true Greek knew that an upside-down-trident was bad luck. This team has been cursed with a terrible run of front office types whose only passion is the bottom line, not the product on the field. Face it guys, we suck. Blow this team up.
