The latest scoop is that the Cardinals are interested in Texas LH reliever Eddie Guardado. Texas apparently is interested in Jess Todd in return. Todd is a AA RHP, who the Cards selected in the 2nd round of last year's draft, and who is having a very nice year at Springfield, after starting the year in A ball. I don't know that I would give up Todd for Everyday Eddie at this point, but I definitely think Guardado could help the Cardinal bullpen.

He was horrible with the Reds last year, but my understanding is that he has been very solid this year. Still not sure I want to see the Cards surrender a top prospect for him, though.

Totally. Eddie is a FA after the year, and if the Rangers want Jess Todd, I would say not a chance.
