Breaking News: Monday, July 21

The Yankees activated Damon from the disabled list on Monday.

Damon was expected to wait until Friday before being activated, but the Yankees placed Jorge Posada on the DL Monday and that created a roster spot for the center fielder. Damon should return to the lineup soon.

Breaking News: Sunday, July 20

The Yankees declined Damon's request to return from the disabled list on Sunday, according to the New York Daily News.

Damon is eligible to come off the DL, but the Yankees are looking at resting him until Friday. The center fielder has been out since July 6 with a sprained left shoulder. Brett Gardner started in his place Sunday.
