June Jones made the right decision on going to SMU

RULE
- Your first arguement must only consist of 4 points on why he did or didnt make the right decision... just follow my format

Point 1) MONEY. He will now make 1.5 million more at SMU. That aint too bad.

Point 2) RECRUITS. He is coaching in Texas, a state that is FULL of GREAT players.

Point 3) FACILITY. I dont know if anyone knew this.. but Hawaii's football facility is a joke. Now he gets to play at a very nice place that holds alot of FUTURE.

Point 4) BRENNAN. Most of the success that Jones has had has been because of Brennan. Now he is gone.


1. Money. If you had stopped here, nobody could argue this. But you didn't. Besides, he could have gotten the same raise from Hawaii.

2. Recruits. I'm laughing now. Great players from Texas don't play for SMU, they play for Texas. SMU is the WORST team in Conference USA, averaging 3 wins a year over the last 5 seasons.

3. Facility. Well, besides the fact that Jones doesn't "play" anywhere, the SMU facility isn't much better. You really must be thinking the Longhorns, because the SMU facility is a joke.

4. Brennan. I guess you forgot that before Brennan, there was Timmy Chang. 17,000 yards and 117 TDs at Hawaii. It isn't the QB, its June Jones.

SMU has already upgraded their facilities. It's part of what attracted Jones. Facts are important.

"Besides more money, Jones will be in the middle of the rich Texas recruiting base, and he will get better facilities. SMU recently built a brick-faced stadium and a modern training center."

football does not revolve around one person coach or player. FOOTBALL is a team effort. TEAMS are the ones that win titles. TEAMs lose. TEAMS win. so it not about the coach's 50% or the quarterbacks !)% on the field. its all about the 100% effort of the team.

I'm just pointing out that your claim that SMU facility is a joke is, evidently, not true. Can you back it up? Clearly June Jones, who knows more about football than you do, thinks the facilities are better.

And if you don't think SMU can capitalize on the pool of recruits from Texas, perhaps you should talk to someone like Greg Schiano. No one went to Rutgers. Until they did.

SMU facilities are alot betyter, hawaiis football field is 20 min away from campus, not to mention they filmed game with a video camera that june won at a golf outing, and the weight room is horrendous...SMU facilities are MUCH better

UH offered Jones 1.6 million. And they refused to go higher. The last time I checkd $2 million is greater than $1.6 Million. By the way his salary this year is $800,000...that is crap. UH does not deserve Jones. From 12-0 to 0-12. ALOHA !!!
