When there is absolutely nothing on, I sometimes let it play in the background while I do other things around the house. I admit, that I used to be a HUGE fan back in the Hulkamania days growing up, and then even into late teens with Stone Cold and The Rock.

But now, that show is just complete garbage. Now I know its not "real" and that matches are staged. That isn't the argument here, so don't accept this trying to say its real. My point (and argument) is that back when the Hulkster was the face of the WWF, it was great entertainment, and had success for many years. But now, the entertainers are boring and the plots are lame. It is a terrible excuse for a soap opera.

I still watch Scooby Doo. Good take on the subject, but I disagree. The demographics of the WWE show that the majority of their fans are 18-30 year old men. Why do u think most of the plots now are pushing sex? Back in the day, there were no diva's running around making out with each other in their panties. The females were glamours ladies like Sensational Sherry and Elizabeth.

What happened was they pushed the envelope too far. I saw a recently deceased wreslter's wife, making out with some other dude on the show as part of a plot. That is just disgustingly disrespectful. The plots of american patriotism (Hulk Vs The Shiek) and great gimmicks (Road Warriors, Demolition, etc...) are now gone. And I read that Vince McMahon supposedly got blown up in his limo. Give me a break. That's just stupid. While it may have been cheesy back in the Andre the Giant days, it was still decent entertainment. Nowadays, I wouldnt even let my kid watch it

We can sit here and argue demographics, plotlines and the like for days on end, but the fact remains:

The quality of the show has been on a decline for years. It may have always been fake, it may have always been cheesy... but the good ole' days of Hulkster, Jake the Snake, Tito Santana and Hawk/Animal are long gone. "superstars" like Randy Orton, MVP and that marine dude that says "you can't see me" are pathetic. I am never gonna say that it wasn't a soap opera for guys, or that it never targeted young males... I am saying that the show is WORSE now, than it was even 10 years ago. 20 years ago, you can't even compare. It was garbage, but it was entertaining garbage.
