its the middle of the season and im making my prediction: The NBA Finals is going to be the Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers. I mean lets look at their roster:
Boston: Los Angeles:
C- Kendrick Perkins C-Andrew Bynum
PF-Kevin Garnett(All-star) PF- Pau Gasol
SF- Paul Pierce(All-Star) SF- Luke Walton
SG-Ray Allen SG- Kobe Bryant
PG- Rajon Rondo PG- Derek Fisher
WOW!!! what amazing lineups Andrew Bynum isnt back yet but when he comes back the Lakers are going to own. No doubt about these are the best 2 teams.

While the Lakers are most likely going to be the fad pick since the picking up of Gasol, let's not forget where they play. In the superior West. While grabbing Gasol for essentially nothing is a GREAT move by the Lakers, and definitely gives them a shot... I don't think they are deep enough to contend with San Antonio or Dallas in a playoff series. Phoenix, New Orleans and Utah... they can definitely run with and possibly win (although even those aren't locks).

I really like the move by the Lakers to get Gasol, but do they have all the pieces to make it to the finals? I don't think so.

no the definetly do... they have a great bench and Kobe is amazing and hes a great veteran along with Derek Fisher. Andrew Bynum was starting to come along before he was injured. But you never know there could be upsets, remember last year #8 Golden State over #1 Dallas Mavericks....anything can happen

You are kinda arguing against urself in that last one ;-)
The Lakers obviously just got way better. But that said, I still don't think they are better than San Antonio or Dallas. They might not even be better than Phoenix or New Orleans. I hold off on the Phoenix thing, because as a weaker team, the Lakers still competed with them in the playoffs over the last few seasons.

Bynum is gone for quite a while still. The team will run entirely different when he is on the court when he gets back. Who plays what minutes? How do the players adjust NOW and then AGAIN when Bynum comes back? There are a lot of intangibles, and it may or may not work out. Even if it does, they would have to beat TWO great teams to make it to the finals.

just like you said tho...they are a great team especially when Bynum comes back. They are easily better than New Orleans and the Lakers players can match up with the suns spurs and Mavericks players.

Easily better than New Orleans? How is that possible when the Lakers have 3 more losses? Last month the Lakers lost to Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio, Cleveland and Detroit. They beat the likes of Philly, Indiana and New York. Obviously the Lakers can't pull it out against the better teams recently.

Right now there are 4 teams in the West with better records, and they are tied with the severely slumping Spurs. To me that doesn't equate with finals showing against Boston.

Good lineup, but look at the Suns. They had a stacked starting 5,and one of the best 6th men,and they still didn't win the championship.Hint to the Lakers.
