The Bruce Bowen vs. LeBron James matchup is the most interesting matchup of the NBA Finals.

Bruce Bowen is a super defender. LeBron James is a super player. To see these two go head to head, mano a mano is just amazing. Bowen shut down Allen Iverson and super point guard Steve Nash, so it will be amazing to see what he can do against James. James however, has averaged 27.5 points a game against the Spurs this year. This means Bowen will be hungry to shut James down, which makes this compelling even to the non-NBA fan.

Interesting? How would you define that word? that's a great one on one match up but there's many more interesting match ups in this final
how about these for starters
1) The spurs vs. the cavs as a team
2) Greg Popovich vs. Mike Carmon
3) LeBron's performance vs. superstars of past ex. Jordan, Magic, Bird
4) Duncan vs. Lebron (two MVP candidates)

I know what you mean, it's a very compelling one on one match, but to say it's the MOST INTERESTING MATCHUP? too subjective brother. I disagree

Interesting meaning compelling. Compelling was too sophistacted for a sports argument. Also, you did not answer the question. You did not tell me why LeBron's isn't compelling. Also, you cannot compare Duncan and LeBron, because they play two diferent positions. Also, the coaches name is Mike Brown not Mike Carmon (of the Cavs). Bowen is guarding James also, so James vs. Duncan will not be showcased.

oops, mike brown, my bad.
We can compare any two players, stats, their play, their leadership capability. The game always matches two superstars together, doesn't need to be one guarding the other. Lebron IS compelling, i don't disagree with that.
The argument is one of interest. What one finds INTERESTING is a PERSONAL opinion, I don't find Bowen vs. James interesting, just a personal opinion.

HELLO?!?!?! Tim Duncan is a POWER FORWARD! LeBron is a shooting guard!! They hardly face each other! You dont find Bowen vs. LBJ interesting? WOW! The best defender versus the best offender. Do you LIKE basketball? Bowen in James face and vice versa? What is better than that!?!?!

Actually i like Duncan vs. Igauskus, or Duncan vs. Anderson V.
we're not debating whether I like basketball, or whether I know basketball. We're debating what the most interesting matchup is in this series. Interesting to me is different than interesting to you. That's all man, you want to debate about a pesonal opinion, how can my opinion be wrong? It's an opinion!

Easy, Bowen vs Lebron. If Bowen and anybody else who helps him dont at least slow down Lebron, the Spurs wont win. They have to slow him down, limit his points to around 20 and force others to perform in the clutch.

I agree Bowen vs Lebron is a gret matchup. But you CAN also have Duncan vs. Lebron. Like Plato said they are both the Team Leaders. How does the new kid Lebron take to his role as opposed to Duncan, one of the all time greats.

LeBron isn't a shooting guard, he's a small forward.

great offense vs. good defense

He actully plays every position except power foward and center, so i am right.

Hey guys, please read the arguments before voting.

I'm not challenging Yanks85 on whether the LBJ and Bowen match up is compelling or not....

I'm challenging his word "most interesting" - it's a subjective word, that is purely based on personal likes/dislikes. How can one tell you that something is the most interesting and tell you that you are wrong if you don't agree. Isn't interest one of personal taste and experience?

That's all folks

Bruce Bowen isn't a star. Tim Duncun is a star. I would rather see star vs. star than star vs. non-star

June 7, 2007  05:45 PM ET

MIKE CARMON? hahaha isnt it mike brown.

June 7, 2007  05:57 PM ET

lebrons gonna run all over him

"He actully plays every position except power foward and center, so i am right."

I guess your as right as a guy who got his facts wrong can be. The fact is that at some point, if LeBron takes the ball to the hole, he is going to go up against Tim Duncan. That will be fun to watch . . . you might even call it interesting.
