He cannot have won it before. He must be under 25. He must have a salary below 1 million.

Alex Gordon.

One of the most talented 3rd baseman in the game right now. He has a great arm on defense and is considered to be one of the best defensive 3rd baseman in the game right now with a .963 FP.

His batting also makes a huge difference. He started last year off slowly but towards the end of his first year he was hitting like a veteran. He hit 15 homers and 60 RBI's.

This year he started off much better, he is hitting .303 with 3 HR's and 6 RBI's. And a perfect fielding percentage.

He is leading his team to very fast start, and with the downfall of the Tigers, it made it easier for him and Royals to make a run for the Division title.

He is a great young baseball player...by the way making 380,000.

Well, I highly doubt that any player could win an MVP under these rules . . .

. . . but anyways, I'll pick 2B Howie Kendrick of the Los Angeles Angels.

Howie Kendrick is 24 years old and is making $432,500.

Kendrick is one of the many few players that fit into these rules who has actually made his name heard around the MLB - and not because he's an overated prospect . . .

. . . or a player who hit .247 last year.

Kendrick hit .322 in 2007, about 80 percentage points higher than Gordon's average, and for the record, he is hitting .429 in the first eight games of this season.

I haven't really saw anybody win MVP because of great defense, nothing is about defense anymore. Now, you can be an average fielder but a good hitter and still win a gold glove.

Gordon is a good defeder, but a bad hitter, still too young and too rushed through KC's farm system.

You are off with Gordon's stats, look them up . . .

15 homers and 60 runs batted in won't win you many MVP's . . .

. . . but if I had to pick a player to win MVP under this rules, I would hit someone who could contend for a batting title - Howie Kendrick . . .

Oh yeah he is a terrible hitter...

He hit over 300 with 4 homers and 13 RBI's in September.

He started out this season on the same hitting streak. He was hittin .300 as of last game (havent looked at stats for last game). He is slugging .545 and his OBP is .324.

Howie is a great 2B, he is athletic and can hit fairly well. He is one of the best contact hitters, however, one of the main things that wins you MVP's is your ability to hit for power. Something Hendrick lacks since he hit a total of 5 HR's.

People only care about that big HR number, and since Gordon can hit for power AND average he has an easier chance at MVP.

Not to mention Hendrick has a huge injury problem. He can never stay healthy and he did again this year, hurting his thumb. So far he hasnt had a healthy season, and that is something the voters do not like.

You have to be a guy who can go out and be there for his team everyday, something Hendricks is not.

I was too busy with other stuff and didn't have time to make an argument

My fault, sorry . . .

The season is only eight games old, it is a little early to be talking of the Tigers downfall.

I know, they still have 154 games left, the season isn't over, and Gordon's stats mean nothing so early in the season.

I am just trying to speculate...

Its called having an imagination...

And no I am not off with Gordons stats...look them up on baseball-reference.com

I'm voting to Dawgee Fresh at the moment. That could change though.
