The '08 Celtics, powered by the 3-Headed Jibroni (KG/Pierce/Allen), simply don't have what it takes to win an NBA Championship this season.

0-6 on the road vs. 8 seed and 4 seed in the play-offs. They'll face the Pistons next (if they get by the Cavs) and we all know the Pistons will win at least 1 of the 4 games in Boston.

I will say that they won't win a championship, but not because they don't have what it takes.

I just think the field of talent in the playoffs is way over what the Celtics have. I think they will beat Cleveland since they are undefeated at home, but as far as the rest, they are way overmatched.

Pistons are more balanced. Anyone for Detroit can take the last shot, they don't have a go-to-guy. The Boston Three Party just can't handle the Pistons who have more experience as a team. Allen, Garnett, and Pierce, who all have individual experience, haven't been in the postseason together. While Detroit has been with the same crew for years. Even without Billups, I expect Detroit to take the Eastern Conference.

If Boston does luck out and get in to the Finals, no way they beat any of the 4 teams in the West. Spurs are like the Pistons in terms of playing together and experience. The Lakers are the Lakers. Jazz and Hornets are both young, but much more talented than Boston.

Boston will not win a Championship because of other teams ability, not because of themselves.

The Celtics can't win the Title unless 1, KG knocks down 20, grabs 15+, blocks 3 and a handful of assists, 2. Pierce shoots 45+% knocking down some 3's and averaging 22+, 3. Ray Allen would need to turn back the clock and become the semi-assasin that he used to be because right now he's a liability, just wasting precious minutes on the floor, 4. Rondo CANNOT deal with Billups or Hunter and let's not even discuss what he'd face in the West, either Paul, Williams, Parker or Fisher .... Checkmate!

The Pistons are seasoned as a team, have been there before, play defense and have firepower. The Celtics lack the been there stat as a team and you can see them looking at each other in tight moments, wondering who's gonna step us. Sam "I AM" to the rescue..... uhhh, no, don't think so, not this time.

The Celtics, no matter how good they play, cannot match the firepower the other teams will give them.

Spurs have Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, Robert Horry, Manu Ginobili, so that's a Big Four already. They play as a team, and handle adverse situations extremely effectively. San Antonio passes the ball well and are extremely unselfish.

Basically, you restated my argument on the Pistons and about the Celtics not playing together in the playoffs. Boston has major talent, don't get me wrong, but they just don't play like a team. And with a playoff field in which every team is designed solely on teamwork, no way they get out alive.

Celtics would have homecourt in the Finals, however keeping it would be difficult vs. Lakers, Hornets or Spurs and winning a road game in L.A., N.O. or S.A. would be next to impossible for them.

Flip Saunders vs. Doc Rivers, at best it's a draw, with possibly a slight edge for Flip (experience with his team and career). Doc vs. B.Scott could be argued to be a draw, but Scott has proved to be a top coach and has played in more play-offs and Finals than Doc. Doc vs. Pop is a major mismatch, as is Doc vs. Phil, just no contest here. Back to the present, seems as though Mike Brown has done more with less in pushing Doc and his C's to game 7.

Lastly, the Celtics have HIGH expectations with a group of players that have achieved relatively nothing substantial other than stats and regular season wins throughout their careers. Along with those expectations come the pressure to fulfill. Are they willing? Yes. But can they pull it all together when the chips are down? No, they simply don't know how to do it and don't have that one player, Kobe, Duncan, Paul that can dominate a game when needed.

Forfeited Turn

This is a tough decision. I will wait for more arguments.

So you both agree??

leaning right. Rondo can play.

And they do agre but disagree on why so I'll vote whoever convinces me why.

Report Offensive Comment

Thought I might get someone to throwdown with reasons why the Celts can win it all this season.

In one sense, it's incredible to me that a team that only lost 16 out of 82 games has managed to lose 6 out of 13 against an 8 seed and a 4 seed, and has yet to win on the road through two rounds.

On the other hand, I had doubts about the Celtics success in preseason, which were somewhat dismissed by there performance in the regular season, although I still thought their dominance was at least partially due to the relative softness of the East. Now that they've struggled through 2 rounds, it's pretty clear the Celts, win or lose, aren't the superpower most thought they were.

It would be hard to say they're even a favorite to win it all at this point, let alone to win the East. The Pistons seem to be coming together at the right time, and regardless of what you say about the Cavs, I'm pretty confident in saying that any of the remaining 3 in the West are better teams.

Not saying the Celts can't turn it on and get their rings, but the intimidation their regular season record imposed is long gone at this point. They're just another team, battling it out, like everyone else. While their opponents may still respect them, I don't think anyone fears them anymore.

Cleveland could win at Boston id Mike Brown would keep Anderson on the court and keep Ilgauskas out more. because all he does is rebound and get a block every now and then. Anderson is all over the place MAKING SHOTS, REBOUNDING, BLOCKING, AND STEALING. that'sa what Clevelands problem is. that's why they never beat Boston at home.

Clevland could easily win at Boston, but will they is another story. It all comes down to who the **** will step up and become the second scorer.

why do they even have the playoffs if we have psychics like these 2 everywhere on this site.... You can debate stuff that has happened or is based on opinion(eg. MJ is best ever, the Knicks need to trade Marbury, etc.) But for people to TD whether or not a team "will" or "will not" do something is rather ridiculous, especially when it is just out of blatant haterism(the Jibroni comment gave you away), and the fact that you are an obnoxious Laker fan(the same ones that booed the hell out of Kobe in the first game of the season, then chanted MVP EVERY TIME HE TOUCHED THE BALL AFTER THE ALL STAR GAME. ) But if they win it all, you should both take a picture so you can share the egg all over your faces...(Plus, if a Celtics superstar gets to the line 21 times a game, they prob wouldn't be in this game 7, which is why the NBA is a joke.....)

The best player for Cleveland right now? Delonte West...get off LBJ's knuttsak...he is shooting 34% and averaging 7 turnovers a game.

How is this a throwdown if both people are argueing the same thing? I mean I am just saying what are they throwing down about whose reasons are better about why Boston won't win?
