You Know the Rules Goodell
Brett Favre-1995-1996 2 MVP'S a Ring very hard to beat right here
Marshaul Faulk-2000-2001 people have rushed for more yards but rememebr Marshaul was a scoring and reciving machine these 2 years.
Ladanian Tomlinson-2007-2007 Now here is crap load of Touchdowns and a hefty load of yards to go with it.
Rice-1994-1995
Harrison-2001-2002
Don Hutson-1942-1943 now he maybe may not be the best statistcally but i do believe Hutson had the greatest recieving season of all time.
Please try to have atleast 2 differences.
Good Luck Goodell
Goodell: PULL THE TRIGGER said 06/05, 10:53 AM
QB - Dan Marino ( 1984-85): Over 9000 yds passing, 78 TD's, 96.5 QB rating
RB - Thurman Thomas (1991-92): Over 4000 Yards from scrimmage...Wanna talk about catching and rushing. Oh yeah, he was the NFL MVP in 1991
RB - LT (2005-06): I picked different years than you. Over 4000 yds from scrimmage and 51 TD's
WR - Jerry Rice (1986-87): 37 TD's in only 28 games. Over that span he averaged 95 yds per game. He also averaged just under 20 yds per REC
WR - Cris Carter (1994-95): For those 2 season's he averaged 109 REC, 1314 yds, and 12 TD's.
WR - Marvin Harrison (2001-2002): For the same reason's as you....
Dont even get me started on Marino vs Farve....Lets look at how many INTS and sack each QB gave up during thier respective 2 year span
Marino - 38 INTs and only 21 sacks
Farve - 26 INTS and sacked 77 times
Now 38 INTS might look bad, but thats compared to 78 TD's, so that a 2-1 ratio which is about as good as your gonna get. Marino also didnt have any sort of running game. Those years for Brett he had Edgar Bennett and Dorsey Levens, who were pretty good for thier respective time frame
Footballfan4 said 06/05, 03:16 PM
Alright
And No dont get me started on Marino Vs Favre.
77 Touchowns to 26 INT Do you realize that is 1 less Touchdown and 12 less INT
Hmm you say you arent goanna get muh better then MARINO'S 2-1 Ratio
WRONG Brett Favre with 1 more TD would be a 3 to one so if you think about it For every 1 INT Marino through He through 2 TD and every 1 INT Favre through he through 3 Touchdowns Hmm what is better.
Favre has 2 MVP'S Super Bowl ring and had Favre had what 300 more rushing yards and 5 more rushing touchdowns this is actually an easy one Favre all the way.
Alright you wanna Compare Thomas to Faulk do yea well here is how i see it Thomas had 4,151 yards from scrimmage and 24 TD to Faulks 4,330 and 47 Touchdowns.
So 24 more TD and about 100 more yards and you are telling me Thomas had a better 2 sesons well that is wrong
Also Thomas had 11 fumbles to Faulks three.
So right there Favre and Faulk are better so i will argue the recievers next alruight
Goodell: PULL THE TRIGGER said 06/05, 03:44 PM
Lets look at sacks, shall we??
Marino - 21 Sacks in 2 seasons
Favre - 77 Sacks in 2 seasons
Favre was sacked over 3 times MORE than Marino.....Thats a startling stat CONSIDERING the best DE in game during those times was on his team. He didnt even have to line up against Reggie White during that span..... He got to play against 2nd rate DE's week in and week out and was still put on his **** an average of 2.5 times per game.....On the other hand Marino was sacked about 0.6 times per game. Thats a difference of about 500%.....Yes, thats FIVE-HUNDRED Percent increase from Marino to Favre
You want to bloat the INT number's against Marino when favre is the NFL's all time INT leader....Nice try
Marshall Faulk = Thurman Thomas reincarnated.....They are about equal on the skill level. Marshall had a much better O-Line in STL than Thurman did in Buffalo. Thurman's OL was a tad bit better than average, as Marhsall got to play with 2 HOF lineman in Slater and Pace
Footballfan4 said 06/05, 04:32 PM
So what if Favre is the all time INT leader this is for this to years you know that anyway.
Rice Vs Rice
This is actually a failry close one considering you have a significantly mor Touchdowns and i have Significantly more yards. Not to Much to argue here. It is to close to call.
Alright now Hutson Vs Carter
Before you start throwing number around with this I will.
In these 2 seasons Hutson had 28 Touchdowns to Carters 24. Carter had over 100 more receptions then Hutson still has 4 more TD'S and what 600 more yards. Well if you think about it Hutson averged more yards per catch by 4 yards and even averaged more yards per game. Hutson also led the league in receptions 2 of those years TD in 2 of those years and Yards per catch in 2 of those years.
Alright now i was goanna pick The yeaars with LT you picked But i changed my mind.
Because i have 2 less Touchdowns yes but i also have 100 more yards and 3 less fumbles. I think 1 yards and 3 less fumbles is better then 2 Touchdowns.
Anyway Good TD and Good Luck Goodell
Goodell: PULL THE TRIGGER said 06/05, 04:43 PM
Hutson vs Carter must go beyond the numbers....Hutson played less games per season, the NFL wasnt as pass happy back then....Blah, Blah, Blah.
In the overall spectrum, Hutson is the better ALL TIME WR. That I wont argue, or try to argue. However, for the given years that we both picked, Carter is hands down the better WR. I didnt need to worry about TD's when I picked Carter, cause Rice and Harrison are all the deep threat I need. Carter is and always will be a better POS WR than Hutson. More REC's means better possesion ratio. Again, overall Hutson is the better of the 2, over the middle Carter is the better of the 2
You are right...Hutson did lead the NFL in all those stats for those seasons. But look at his competition. He never had to line up agaisnt Deion Sanders or Darrell Green. He never had to compete with Andre Reed, Jerry Rice, Tim Brown, Irving Fryar, Herman Moore, Flipper Anderson, Mark Duper and So on. Hutson was the best of his time because the field was soooo thin. Im not saying he isnt great, just Carter had a little harder time getting those numbers.
Good TD

I'm confused. What is it, top 5 best players over a 2 year span or assemble an all skilled position team with stats from a 2 year period?

Yeah dude, actually I looked at all of them and they are all the same thing, save the original TD vs. LIFER where you decided several of his answers were better than yours and borrowed them for your ensuing attempt at the exact sae TD.
And seriously, I'm sick of whiny-**** TDers (3rd time in 2 days) FanMailing me when I leave a comment they don't agree with - disagree with me in the comments of the freaking TD. Refute me where people can agree/disagree. Isn't that the point of structured debate? What good does sending me an FanMail do? It's not a personal attack, man, I just don't agree with you and I have a major beef with posting the same freaking TD 4 times in a row.
