Take both men on their best day in their prime, who wins?

I will take Rocky

Ali was far too quick and agile. He may not knock out that chin, but he'd out point him all day long.

Rocky defended the title 6 consecutive bouts. He had a chin of stone. He also had speed and the one thing old Cassious Clay didnt have, heart and pride in who he was.

Oh, I thought you said "in his prime". Now you say "one thing the old Cassious Clay didn't have". Sorry, your confusing arguments are difficult to keep up with.

The fact is, Ali was simply the best ever. And if they had both been in the ring together, you'd see Ali running circles around the Rock. Jab, jab jab. Duck, bob, weave. Rocky would have worn himself out just trying to keep up.

Forfeited Turn

Aww Frank, ya let me down here. Oh well, never kick a man when he's down. I'll follow suit and forteit this turn.

he was a bum, thats why he took that loss to Frazier, pride and heart beat him on that day, so ill take the most prideful and heartful fighter of all time over him

rocky did beat joe louis, but joe was like a hundred a fifty...it would make for a good fight, however Ali could win this fight. a simulation was done on this fight...check it out

and a simulation has what do do with what?

June 10, 2008  01:27 PM ET

lmao to refer to cassius clay as a bum is just dumb, you can make an argument that ali wasn't the greatest, but clay dominated

June 10, 2008  01:28 PM ET

it was actually a huge deal check it out and read up on it:

i could simulate me whipping Utan the 20ft crocodile but that dosent mean that it would happen

June 10, 2008  01:32 PM ET

not saying it would but it does show how they factored in all the intangables....rocky won by the way

June 10, 2008  01:33 PM ET

i just refuse to read or view any such simulation b/c its stupid, kind of like simulating me whipping Utan the 20 ft crocodile (google him)

June 10, 2008  01:34 PM ET

Rocky beat Louis when Louis was WAY out of his prime.

June 10, 2008  01:35 PM ET

simulations can work in some areas its always tough with sports though, there are way to many factors. In my opinion, this fight would have went like the Foreman fight....ali takes a beatin and then comes back to win in the end....he would box a circle around rocky...rocky couldn't box, but he could fight had a badass chin and a vicious punch

June 10, 2008  01:37 PM ET

seriously though the Brown Bomber would have beat them all...in his prime he was nasty if you watch his footage his hands are devastating

is it that hard to accept a white man as the winner?

June 10, 2008  02:02 PM ET

no not at all, but Joe Louis in my eyes was the greatest

June 10, 2008  02:58 PM ET

Ali actually had his prime years taken away from him. I can't see Marciano hurting Ali any more then Foreman did in Zaire.

June 10, 2008  04:53 PM ET

Pentangelli, like your namesake, you chose the wrong side!

June 11, 2008  04:12 PM ET

Gruden the only reason he is the greatest ever is because he said so, he was great but he wasn't the GOAT. Joe Louis woulda whopped his ****

June 11, 2008  04:16 PM ET

Joe Louis also got schooled by a slick light heavy like Billy Conn the first time they fought. He also fought against far weaker competition then Ali.
