In no order:
Remember the Titans
Varsity Blues
Friday Night Lights
WildCats
All the Right Moves
Gruden crushes poker tables said 06/11, 12:17 PM
Radio
Gridiron Gang
The Best of Times
Johnny Be Good
Lucas
I should win just for coming up with 5 different. There aren't a whole lot to choose from.
But for a real list, I have to repeat some of yours.
Remember the Titans
Varsity Blues
Friday Night Lights
Radio
The Gridiron Gang
Steamin Willie Beamen said 06/11, 12:23 PM
Gridiron Gang? Those dudes were in lockdown not HS. I guess you could say the ages are the same, but it was not set in HS.
You should not win for just coming up with different ones. Basically the argument is
Radio versus Wild Cats and All the Right Moves versus Gridiron Gang, since Gridiron Gang doesn't fit the topic I won't argue against it anymore
So Radio v WildCats
First off Radio wasn't really about football per say it was more about the relationship between the two characters with Football as a back drop.
WildCats was straight about football, gangster inner city football too, who can forget this cast?
Wesley Snipes
Woody Harrleson
Nipsey Russell
And least we forget Goldie Hawn as the coach and she was still hot then.
Gruden crushes poker tables said 06/11, 12:31 PM
The are all high school age, and attending high school classes in juvie. So, how is that not set in HS? What part of high school is missing? If you don't comprehend that, then I see why you refuse to discuss it further.
Radio wouldn't exist if it wasn't for a high school football coach. Radio was the team
How is it NOT. Where in your rules did you say "the movie must focus specifically on football and not involve any sort of alternative education?"
In the end, Radio and Gridiron Gang are both far superior movies to WildCats and All The Right Moves. In fact, All The Right Moves, by itself should disqualify you. Its one of the worst movies ever made.
Steamin Willie Beamen said 06/11, 12:52 PM
Seriously you see no difference between a juvinile detention facility and a HS. WOW ..how bout this at the end of the day in a HS you can go home and have a coke, or play video games, or just chillax. In Juvi you ain't going no where, and while you may receive education you certainly are not enrolled in HS. That should end that debate right thur.
All the Right Moves had Leigh Thompson Nekked. She was in her pre prime too. All the right moves showed a dying town, and how one kid is desperatly trying to escape his fate. Radio was a not great movie with a struggling Cuba Gooding tryin to do his best Dustin Hoffman rainman impression. He brought no chops to that role.
Plus All the Right Moves was back when Cruise was still respectable and before he started jumping on couches.
Gruden crushes poker tables said 06/11, 12:59 PM
Hey, thanks for coming back. Thought you went on vacation or something.
Here's a clue: who did the boys from Gridiron Gang play against? Oh, they played in a HIGH SCHOOL conference, and even won the CONFERENCE championship. How would that be possible if it wasn't high school?
And a: Its Lea Thompson. And she was 18 years old at the time. A child. But if "pre prime" is your thing, well whatever floats your boat. I prefer my women IN their prime, not before their prime.
As for Cruise, he's never been respectable. Gooding has the Oscar, not Cruise.

How about a recorded tape of the Bills losing 3 Straight Super Bowls? I just had to get it out.

Friday Night Lights. Incredible story....and it was all real. Hollywood couldn't even dream up the stuff that happened to that team. Greatness. The book was great too.

Uneccessary low-blow DetroitFan. Goodell was just chillin' here. Then you punched him. I saw it all.

At least the Bills have seen a SB in the last.....Well, forever. When was the last time the Lions went to the SB or a title game? Back before the AFL-NFL Merger in the 40's...

Didn't the real team lose before they even got to the Championship. It was a little Hollywoodnized but still a good film. Titans is best by far though.

Varsity Blues showcases the struggle of the academic athlete in High School very well. A very accurate portrail, especially for Texas. The best (and most fun) HS football movie listed. Props to Tim McGraw for pulling off the ultimate alchoholic, abusive football dad. Oscar worthy fo sho.

I don't remember them getting to the championship game? Maybe the book and the movie are running together for me, but I could swore that the team lost before getting to the championship game in the movie.

Yeah. Totally. I just got lost in a tangent. I am working, or trying to work, and type at the same time. I sit a few rows behind Goodell. Obviously his multi tasking skills trump mine. Thanks for calling me out, Rob.
