Lifer: Metallica Sucks! said 06/11, 05:22 PM
Here's the game...go to this website...
http://www.pro-football-reference.com/
In the top right corner is a button that says "random"...the game is such: Click on it 15 times. After 15 clicks, you choose the random player that you think is the best. If you get a team or a coach or something, you can get rid of that and it won't count.
Do this five times PER argument (so a total of 75 clicks). Put down the three players you have. In the second and third arguments, you can say why your previous choices are better than your opponent's previous choices, and have your next three at the end of the argument.
This is a game of trust, so if you want to be a jerk and cheat, fine, but I hope you have more dignity than cheating at an online game.
Here are my three:
1. Darrin Nelson
2. Curtis Martin
3. Anthony Thomas
4. Jack Kemp
5. Bill Radovich
You're up!
EagleHater: Goodbye, FN said 06/11, 05:43 PM
Sounds fun, and I think we both know we won't cheat. Good luck to you (you'll need it... literally LOL)
Now, you started off by saying 5 players, and listed five, but then said three multiple times. Since I'm not positive what you're saying. I'll give you 5, as you did for me.
1. Jim Kiick (RB for undefeated 1972 Dolphins)
2. Rick Woods
3. Bill Radovich
4. Roger Wehrli
5. Rayfield Wright
I think I had a pretty good list. Kiick was a solid player for the first team to ever go undefeated. Rick Woods was really nothing to look twice at. We both got Bill Radovich, a decent player.
But my star power comes in the last two rounds, where I snagged Hall of Famers. The 7 time PBer and HoF member had 53 career interceptions.
And Rayfield Wright was a MAULING right tackle, and 6 time Pro Bowler and Hall of Fame inductee, for the great Cowboys teams for the 1970s.
Lifer: Metallica Sucks! said 06/11, 07:01 PM
We both have Radovich, so let's just drop that. Jim Kiick was OK, but he played 3rd fiddle to Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris for his career (including 1972). Rick Woods was a below average player.
Darrin Nelson had a good career, and Curtis Martin is a future HOFer. Anthony Thomas was also a good player early on. Jack Kemp made 7 Pro Bowls in his career, nothing too shabby.
However, I'll be the first to say that I can't beat two HOFers. But I think it is still very close.
Here is my next batch:
1. Corey Miller
2. Dan Footman
3. Priest Holmes
4. Kenny Graham
5. Mike Michalske
Pretty weak first two, but my last three are good value (including HOFer Mike Michalske). Funny thing, I actually also drew the 1985 Bears...too bad we can't use teams, eh?
EagleHater: Goodbye, FN said 06/11, 08:56 PM
LOL yeah, there are some good teams out there I've drawn. Anyways, onto my list:
1. Karim Abdul-Jabbar
2. Tom Hannon
3. Gary Kubiak (as a player)
4. Nick Barnett
5. Isiah Robertson
Alright... I COULD NOT pass up Jabbar. How weird is that? Never knew someone with that name played football. And he was GOOD too! Early in his career, he had a 2 year stretch with about 2,000 yards rushing and 26 rushing TDs!
Hannon was a decent safety for a few years, with 15 total picks. Kubiak was actually an average QB a while back, and it was cool to find that, as he is now a decent head coach.
Barnett is a great linebacker on a tough Packers defense.
Robertson made 6 Pro Bowls with the Rams and Bills at outside linebacker

Good draw. My turn!
1. Shelton Quarles
2. Antoine Bethea
3. Rayfield Wright (whoa)
4. Jevon Kearse
5. Laurie Niemi
All of my guys have made at least 1 Pro Bowl. For some reason I also drew Rayfield Wright...I guess the repeating thing is true. Good luck.
EagleHater: Goodbye, FN said 06/12, 07:56 PM
1. Laurie Niemi (2 time Pro Bowl DT)
2. Lee Roy Selmon (HoF defensive end)
3. Lee Roy Selmon (Yup... twice in two separate sets, within 12 clicks of each other. Screw randomness, I suppose.)
4. Priest Holmes (pretty good RB)
5. David Akers (good kicker. I also got Roger Wherli here, but I figured on repeat was enough.)
All in all, I think I had a pretty good haul in this entire TD. 3 HoFers, plus Selmon twice.
Great TD LIFER, and great idea.
