* Differences
Brad Cottam - I know some of you are thinking "what???", but with pretty good receivers and a quarterback who can get it to them, I want a big tight end who can block. That's what Cottam is. He was injured last season, but he is completely healed now and he shoed that at the Senior Bowl. He will be a superb tight end blocker.

Marion Barber III v. Frank Gore
Without starting and with 50 less carries, Barber had only 125 less yards and had twice as many TDs- he will only be better as the primary back this year
TE- Yes Cottam is a big, blocking TE-but Chris Cooley is a pro bowler-an offensive weapon that Cottam is not
Olivea was benched last year in favor of Jeromey Clary and now cannot find a team-Roos was the starter for all of last year fro TENN and will be agian-he is one of the rising young stars at LT
Alex Lewis is a scrub- he has started like 5 games his whole career and is basically a special teams player. His production has decreased since his rookie season- This year he will be the backup to Jordan Dixon
I would rather have a starter than a special teams player
Kirk Morrison is more productive than Lofa Tatupu
In each of their 3 seasons, Morrison has had more tackles, and last year he had the same number of pd, int, and sacks
Lofa gets more pub, but Morrisson is one of the most underrated players in football

I took Frank Gore because he has managed to succeed on an horrible team. His quarterback has been Alex Smith, a huge bust. He is the most important part of that offense and it's difficult to carry such a huge load year in and year out. We don't know if Marion Barber is capable of being the #1 running back on a team yet because he was second to Jones most of the time at Dallas and second to Maroney in Minnesota.
A big blocking TE is what I was looking for. When you have a productive offense, you don't need an offensive weapon at tight end and with good blocking, it's easier for receivers to get open. Blocking is more important to the success of a team than receiving is. If you have no good receivers a receiving tight end is important, but both receivers can catch the ball so you need a blocker.
Olivea was benched, but before that he was helping to clear the way for LDT. Lofa Tatupu was drafted in the second round of 2005, like Roos. I would take Tatupu over Roos.
Lewis is my weak spot, but I would take someone who has actually played a game in the NFL over a rookie at linebacker. Dixon is unproven and could turn out to be even worse.
Tatupu and Morrison in next argument.

The best offenses in the NFL most have good receiving TEs- NE (benjmain watson), Dallas (Jason Witten), Indy (Dallas Clark), SD (Gates)- a good receiving TE
'Ey Capernicus said 06/24, 10:34 PM
Tatupu doesn't necessarily have less production. He may have less tackles, but he has eight career interceptions to Kirk's six, 6.5 career sacks to Kirk's two and five forced fumbles to Kirk's ONE! Only one FF! I'd say Tatupu is more productive because turnovers are more important than tackles. Tatupu has thirteen interceptions and forced fumbles, Morrison has just seven! Tatupu gives the offense the ball.
The best offenses do? What about the best teams? You left out full back, lacking an extra blocker for your RB, a blocking TE fills that void. Defense wins championships, by the way.
Roos may be better than Olivea, but you chose Roos OVER Lofa Tatupu (drafted in the same round)! Tatupu is better at linebacker than Roos is at OT. I would take Tatupu and Olivea over Roos anyday.
Alex Lewis has played forty more games in the NFL than Dixon. He has 136 career tackles to Dixon's none. Two forced fumbles and one interception to Dixon's none. Scrub, huh? I would certainly take Lewis over Dixon.

What about Vince Young? He's been winning without any receivers on his team.

Roethlisberger or Eli? Both have superbowls to their credit and have accomplished far more than Derek Anderson.

I put Roethlisberger down, but if I did I would have had to take either a non-starting linebacker or another rookie, which I didn't want to do.

Ben was 04-you would have needed to find a different OG.

It's more complicated than it seems, that's why I had so few differences. If I took a different OG then I would take a linebacker where the the OG was, resulting in other problems throughout my team.

hit enter by accident- meant to say you need a good TE
Olivia lost his job-yes he was good a couple of years ago, but he lost his job and cannot get signed
I would rather have a promising rookie than a proven scrub
