If i was entering the MLB, i would want to play in New York (Yankees).

In the Bronx, you have the history of championships which is longer than any other franchise in pro sports. The Yankees always somehow find a way to win.

And now is the best time than ever. They are moving out of their original stadium and going to a new one. They played in a place they dubbed "The House that Ruth Built". Now you can have the place called "The House that ____________ Built"

Look at the history of players to play for the yankees. Derek Jeter, Yogi Berra, Roger Clemens, Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Phil Rizzuto, Thurman Munson, Reggie Jackson, Alex Rodriguez, Mariano Rivera, and Whitey Ford. And trust me, that is only naming a few.

While in New York, you get to be a part of probably the best city in the US. Also, you get to take part in the best rivalry.


While the money and history is amazing as a Yankee, this is City not Team. I love NY City.... to visit. Living there would be too much. Not to mention the strong possibility you would run of falling on the bad side of the Fans. If I am an MLB player I can travel in my offtime any place that I want, therefore I want a home base thats peaceful. I want a homebase where I can actually "drive" my Lambo. I want a home base in a city that actually sleeps.

That being said: I would prefer to play in Atlanta and live in the Suburb of Buford. Atlanta pays well and has great fans. While it has quite the reputation, Atlanta traffic has improved with the widening of areas and addition of bypasses. Its approx 40 minutes to Buford where you can live well and have a great life. Buford has been rated as the #2 city to live in the US. Buford is connected with one of the top boating lakes in the US which is for me. Buford is minutes form the Mall of Georgia (largest in the Southeast) for the wife.


Who says you have to live in New York to play there? It is basically a 81 day vacation. Many players dont live in the city they play for.

You mentioned the mall in Georgia for the wife... how bout EVERYTHING in New York. The landmarks and the shops are good enough.

Would you rather be paid 15.5 million a year or 28 million a year? The Yankees pay 28, the Braves pay 15.5 for their highest paid players.

From New York but I have to go with Frank here. I have seen plenty of players over the years get destroyed by New York media and the fans, and I have to say that if I was a player I would NEVER want to play here.
