The Chief's or whoever make's the call's for them are STUPID

Check this out.....No really, go read it

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Fans-are-asked-to-treat-Chiefs-games-like-bowlin?urn=nfl,91291

Basicaly you wont be able to stand and root your team. You will have to SIT in your seat and watch the Chiefs games. Now the Chiefs fans and ArrowHead staduim are known across the NFL for being one of the loudest and rowdiest outdoor staduims.....But what are they thinking?? They will have it set up to where if someone is standing, you can text your section and row # and then security will come to you.

If you want to sit on a bench and NOT cheer, go to a Baptist church instead of a NFL game on suday....

If you want a quite reserved crowd go to a PGA tourney or to a tennis match. The Chiefs are not the best team by any means, but playin in Arrowhead just got a WHOLE LOT EASIER for the rest of the AFC West

1. A comment: I pay a ton of money for my seats I should be able to do whatever the heck i want in it

2. A response: I paid a lot of money for the seat behind you and I shouldnt have to stand to see every play.

What #1 does negatively effects the game enjoyment of #2

I attend (between HS, NCAA, and NFL) approx 20 games per season. I for one hate it when I miss the main part of the play b/c someone flew up in front of me. Now there are game situations when everyone should stand but I am confident the crowd and security will know when that time is. Until that time comes, sit down.

At last census only 9.7% of their population is the 18-24(stand all game) bracket. 53.1% of the Kansas City population is in the 25-64 (likes to sit) bracket. Not to mention the general fact that the latter age class dawns much greater spending power.

For Kansas City, I think its a good rule.

Dont bust out demographic's on me Frank if you dont know how to use them....

What percent of the 9.7 that you listed.....Are Chief's fans?

What percent of the 5.31% that you listed.....Are Chief's fans?

What percentage of the numbers you listed season ticket holders? And how many seats do they have season tickets for.

If person A and person B are in a fight about standing at a game cause person B cant see...Person B should ante up and get some better tickets. The last thing I do at any sporting event is sit. Wether I got box seat's on the first baseline at Avista Stadium where the Spokane Indians play, Or if I go to the Kennel and Watch the Gonzaga Bulldogs play.....Im on my feet for atleast 80% of the game

Fan is short for FANATIC....

Which by definition is: "marked by excessive enthusiasm and often intense uncritical devotion". And I got that from dictionary.com

Sorry, but when you mention the words EXECESSIVE, ENTHUSIASM, INTESNE.....You rarely if ever think of sitting and watching a tennis match.

Now I understand you work in "internet marketing" but I have a Marketing Degree as well. Im just breaking up the ages and making a "general assumption" about the differences in age classes b/c thats all I got. What makes a great marketer is the ability to "assume" properly b/c you never have all the info needed.

In my first argument I did elude to the fact that there is a time for all to stand. I think fans and security can decide on that themselves.

Example; Myrtle Beach: There are signs at virtually every public and hotel entrance stating: NO ALCOHOL ON THE BEACH. However; everyone has alcohol on the beach in a consealed manner and the authorities know and are fine with it. So why the rule? If someone causes a problem they dont have to discuss the problem, they can simply say no Alcohol your gone bubba.

This I am sure is the main reasoning in the No Standing Rule. You can avoid more confrontation and the real problem in the crowd by having a general broken rule to fall back on.

Amen Goodell. Amen.

Is Frank recommending **** off the young fans because the older fans are whiny and like to sit all day? The younger fans turn into older fans, if I'm not mistaken. Unless they stop going because security escorts them out for standing.

Report Offensive Comment

I'd like to see them try that at College Station.

I don't think they will succeed, the Chiefs fans are just too devoted to their team.

I's think's it's stupid's to's use's an's apostrophe's in's every's word's that's end's with's "s".

Need to know more Commish. Is it ok to stand up and yell on a big play? If not, it's ridiculous. I do have a problem with the guys who show up and stand the entire time, which of course forces you and every one else behind them to do the same. If you want a standing room ticket, buy one - their a lot cheaper. For what a ducat costs these days you should at least be able to sit and enjoy the game and cheer just as loudly as when you are standing.

worst idea ever...

In reading the article and comments, it seems more likely the Chiefs have it in place in order to have grounds to toss unruly fans, not necessarily to enforce to the letter of the law.

While I don't approve of the rule, Frank has points here and it is obvious you are a "young fan"
There are those that just don't how to behave at public functions, a large percentage of them are in the 18-24 age bracket. How do I know this, I once was one and have now raised a couple! LOL

You are correct, these younger fans will become older ones however, fortunately most will not only get older physically, they will mature as well. You will swear that you will NEVER become like us, but it is inevitable....you will whine and complain and use the superior spending power and political clout that age and experience provides to keep the next generation of youngin's in line.

The rule is going too far however, those that can not control themselves usually are the resason such over the top rules are adopted. Basically it comes down to the fact that all too often, the ignorant few screw things up for everyone else!

Hell, people can stand up at tennis matches.

Report Offensive Comment

Frank probably looks the person in the pic, and he can't stand haha

Report Offensive Comment

They can???

They just dont cause tennis is kinda gay.....

Report Offensive Comment

I don't wanna miss a play cuz some ahole in front of em can't sit the fk down

Buy better ticket Pitt-roy.....

Every time Ive seen the crown at Hienz field, they are ALWAYS on there feet with thier terrible towles. So I really dont think you have grounds for making a comment here Roy

The rule is going to far. There is a certain etiquette fans should follow when attending a game. There are times when you need to stand like at the end of the a close game but unless you are at a student section of a college game no one stands the entire game. I have been to half of the NFL stadiums and I have never seen a crowd stand through out the game. When a couple of fools try to stand the whole time the whole section behind them will let them know. When you get a crowd of this size some middle ground and compromise must be found. Its just like the unwritten rule you don't try to get to your seat in the middle of a play or in baseball while a batter is up.

Report Offensive Comment

Goodell you can't tell people to spend more money just because a couple of **** feel the need to stand. Like I said, people stand during big plays and intense moments but not through entire games. Telling people they need to dig deeper in their budget is not the answer. The people standing are always in the minority.

Report Offensive Comment

Maybe the people standing should get the sits in the back.

Report Offensive Comment

This is a tricky situation, I have been on both side of the tabel

"MJD- you are obviously a jerk. It is about time that someone had the sense enough to make such a rule. As a fan, I pay a lot of money to WATCH a game at the stadium- NOT to look at the backside of some idiot in front of me. The people who just have to ruin the game for others should have their own section of the stadium to sit. Let the other paying customers enjoy the game that they pay to SEE. Someone should inject your mouth with a temporary paralytic.

This is rediculous. If you can't see because people in front of you are standing, STAND THE HELL UP! THis is a stupid rule and part of having fun at a game is standing. That would be like going to an NBA game and when there is a huge dunk, just sitting there quietly and just watching, or during baseball when they have the horns that are like da na naaaa....CHARGE without saying charge just sitting there.

This is just pathetic that an 85-year old 2nd grade teacher is making this rule.
