Then Brett should stay retired. With Brett gracing the cover of Madden 09, he should stay at home, coming back he is risking the curse. Do I need to list all the cover athletes that have been injured due to their appearance on the cover, heck the curse even trasfers over to other languages, Luis Castillo was the first player to be on the spanish version, and missed six games last season.

Try and dispell the cover curse all you want, but if I were Brett I would lock myself in a padded room until Madden 2010 comes out. Brett is the ironman of the NFL, however he has tempted the injury bug to long as it is, and with the curse hanging over him, he should hang them up for good.

Brett should stay retired, but being on the cover of Madden has nothing to do with it.

Obviously, he believes his heart just isn't in it anymore, otherwise he wouldn't have retired in the first place.

Also, he really doesn't want to play for another team, and I truly believe the Packers are set on Rodgers as their QB.

Finally, the heat he would take from all the Favre mancrushers out there if he does play on another team - he is a Packer and will always be a Packer unless he comes back and plays for another team...it would be like Willie Mays hanging around and playing on the Mets...ruined the last image of the man and no way Favre does that.

Noone remembers Willie playing for the Mets, noone. Secondly if he wasn't on the cover I say he should play. I mean afterall the great Joe Montana did it, and he still put up good numbers, taking KC to the playoffs. I honeslty did this one cause I haven't heard anyoen bring up the curse yet, they have discussed all other issues surrounding Brett adnasium, but not this. Brett should not tempt the Madden gods. They don't look kindly on the man on the cover, and he hasn't missed a game yet. He will however miss games this season if he plays. You can't out juke the curse.

Everyone remembers Willie with the Mets, if they're over 30.

There is absolutely nothing left for Favre to prove in coming back...he's got all the passing records, he's got the MVPs, he's got the Super Bowl ring...the only reason to come back would be to try to win another Super Bowl but all the teams that are legit contenders for one, already have a QB.

He should stay retired, leave his legacy as a Packer intact but the Madden curse as nothing to do with it....plus, seeing how Madden has the biggest Favre mancrush in the world, he would probably get the voodoo priestesses to remove the curse if he did come back so it wouldn't even be an issue.

I am over thirty, I have erased that memory from my mind. Frave should consider the curse above all other considerations. he is risking serious injury and at his advanced age, I don't know if he should.

Bottom line is this. Farve should not unretire due to the curse.

Like I said at the end of my 2nd argument.....there is no way Madden allows the curse to remain in place if Favre returns....if the voodoo priestesses that originally placed the curse for Madden (to ensure Favre had less competition each season), I'm sure he'll redo the cover and put Tom Brady, Randy Moss or the entire Giants D on the cover just to ensure there is no Madden curse on Favre this season. Hell, Madden may even put Old Man Winter himself on the cover because obiviously he didn't make it cold enough when the Packers choked...I mean lost to the Giants last January.
