2 words: Tim Donaghy is the biggest thing to happen to Sports in the past year.

Now I wont say that the NBA is completely scripted; however, the outcomes of playoff games have been influenced by officials since the Magic and Bird Years. Stern clearly influences the officials to play to what sells. For example; Lebron James and MJ: While they are both great players they are about half as good as they appear. Why is this? It is because they get extreme prejudice when it comes to what is and is not a foul.

Think about it, the entire playoffs the home team couldnt lose. Donaghy spills the beans mid way through the Finals and then you see real Playoff basketball for the first time in 25 years. What happened? The Lakers got killed b/c without the officials running the script the Lakers are in the bottom 5 teams of the NBA.

Now, atleast for a few years we will have real NBA Basketball. That is the biggest thing to happen in sports the past year.

The Donaghy scandal did not help the NBA or any sport for that matter. It produced a cloud of doubt over all sports. It was not great, it was a SCANDAL.

I think Nadal beating Federer in the Wimbledon Finals was huge this year. It is almost undoubtedly the greatest tennis match of all-time. It helped to revive a falling sport. Fans saw glimpses of the past, as the two greatest players and rivals of today's tennis battled it out on the court for over 5 hours.

This brought old fans back, and new fans in. It is hard to get good tennis like what was played in the Finals, but they showed it could be found. Not only that, but they have more(hopefully) matches to come.

Can you imagine the publicity and press a U.S. Open Finals match would bring? Many people would tune in to watch that, because of hearing about or seeing the greatest match ever!

The Donaghy scandal is a bad moment in sports history, one that should be easily forgotten. It was by no means great, as the title indicates.

The Wimbledon Final was great. Best match I personally have ever watched. However; it was a brief love for 1 match. Until there is a competitive American, America wont care. I dont care.

The Donaghy Scandal was bad????? The last 2 Finals games were the first unscripted playoff NBA games in 25 years. Next year we may actually see an entire unscripted NBA Season. How the heck is that bad?

I always thought Great was a good thing. Like, you say the greatest players of all time, your not talking about the worst.

The Tennis Match that brought tennis back! It will be more popular than ever now because of this.

Will ratings change in NBA basketball because there is no more ref phone calls? I highly doubt it. But in tennis, the ratings will skyrocket.

Its not the Scandal that makes this situation great. Its the light that has been shed upon the game that makes it great.

His bean spilling will result in an immediate decrease in the preferential superstar officiating and we can get back to a great team game.
