Which NFL division will have the LEAST amount of combined wins from first to worst: The NFC West or the AFC West?

AFC West=Least

Last yr the AFC West had a combined 26 wins: Chargers(11), Broncos(7), Chiefs(4), Raiders(4).

Last yr the NFC West had a combined 26 wins: Seahawks(10), Cardinals
(8), 49ers(5), Rams(3).

Ok so what has changed from last yr that will allow the NFC West to have more wins than its AFC counterpart?

Well first of all, Arizona is starting Kurt Warner out of the gate. Last yr they tried a platoon system w/ Leinart starting & Warner coming in the game in the 2nd half that failed to generate any stability & they got off to an awful 1-2 start w/ losses to the 49ers & Ravens. Arizona knows they cant settle for 8 wins in this division & still beat Seattle. Look for Cards to b better.

The Rams only won 3, yes THREE games last yr! Stephen Jackson was hurt & that had a lot to do with it. He is healthy now. Marc Bulger had his worst season w/o Jackson, so he has nowhere to go but up now w/ a solid running game. Torry Holt caught 93 passes for a horrific offense last yr.

The 49ers should win 5 games=no dropoff in wins.

NFC West beats up on each other. There are a lot of wins to be had evenly across the NFC West.

AFC West arguments NEXT. Hold votes?

I say the NFC West gets the least amount of wins.

The Seahawks will post around 10-11 wins like last year, and I see the Cards at 8-8 or 9-7.

The Rams are still not that great of a team, and at the most I see 5 wins, but I see a repeat from last year.

Same with the 9ers.

11+9+5+5= 30 wins.

The Chargers are still a dominating team, even without Merriman, and I see them with a 13-3 record.

Denver has improved over the off season by adding several receivers, and adding Boss Bailey to their front 7, and I easily see 9 wins for my boys in Denver.

Oakland has improved as well, getting Javon Walker, and D-Hall, and I see 5 wins, which is better than last year.

The Chiefs are just a plain out bad team this year, and I'm giving them 4 wins, and I'm being generous.

13+9+5+4=31 wins.

Those predictions were made by looking at the schedules, and seeing who is better on paper.

To me the AFC West has improved more than the NFC West.

Both divisions will be 1 team races, but The AFC West's next 2 teams have an edge over the NFC West's next 2 teams, and the Rams and Chiefs shouldn't really be a problem for any decent team.

Have u watched any Raiders games this preseason? I just got done watching the Raiders offense get shutout @ home 24-0 behind mostly JaMarcus Russell who doesnt look comfortable; giving McFadden the starting job as a rookie will prove to be a mistake. Justin Fargas had a very nice 2007 for the Raiders behind a bad O-line@ 1,009 yards, 4.5 per carry, & only 3 fumbles. How can the Raiders bench this guy in favor of a rookie? HUGE mistake, coupled with a rookie getting some serious growing pains worked out, look for the Raiders to b the same as 2007.

"The Chiefs are just a plain out bad team this year, and I'm giving them 4 wins, and I'm being generous."

Well, considering being generous helps ur arguments, lets just b realistic & not generous. Give them a win over the Raiders @ home. Give them a win over the Dolphins & @ Falcons. Thats 3 wins & I am being generous. Miami & Atlanta r better than they were last yr. Check the Chiefs schedule: no easy wins because KC sucks so bad.

Chargers 13 wins? I got 4 losses right here: @Denver, Patriots, @Pittsburgh, Colts. 13 wins is extremely difficult and takes all the breaks w/ few injuries.

Denver=Which Jay Cutler will we see?

I do not base anything for a team on preseason, it is meaningless, and just determines what string some of the borderline players will get.

Justin Fargas is listed as the starter, but from what I've heard they will split time.

The Raiders have improved this year, they are still not playoff caliber, but 5-6 wins seems feasible, as they had a very solid off season with the draft, and their Free Agent signings.

The Chiefs are a 4 win team, and with all of the wins you said, I don't think a win vs Tennessee at home is out of the question.

Denver has improved, and as ,much as I hate it, it has been awhile since Denver has beaten SD, and I see the Chargers beating the Steelers this year, and 13 wins is very feasible, as NE, IND, and maybe at New Orleans.

Jay Cutler is a solid QB, and he has a lot more targets this year, and what he did last year was when he had undiagnosed diabetes, and now that he has his insulin pump, I expect a big year out of Cutler, plus Selvin Young is not too shabby, and they improved their run D with Boss Bailey, and their secondary is strong as usual.

All in all I have the AFC West at 31 wins, and the NFC West at 30 wins.

So the NFC West will lose more.

Well considering the way J-Russ has been playing in the preseason & @ the end of last yr, the only thing we have to judge him by, if he doesnt get his act together a ton better than that 24-0 debacle I just saw, which was mostly under his QB reign, he is going to become one of those borderline starters ASAP.

Darren McFadden, due to his combination of strength and speed, some compare the #4 overall pick to Adrian Peterson. McFadden joins Justin Fargas and Michael Bush in the Raider backfield. Fargas had something of a breakout season in 2007 and Bush is running very well in camp, but McFadden will still get his touches. The team has said they???d like to use McFadden like the Saints used Reggie Bush in his rookie season. Oakland won???t want to wear him out, so this looks like a runningback by committee for the time being.

That sounds like a starter to me. Who do u think is going to get the most touches once his play-making ability surfaces?

After you read that article tell me again how the Raiders are going to improve in 2008??

So you based your entire final argument on the Raiders? That's funny, because if I recall correctly there are 3 other teams in the AFC West.

IT'S PRESEASON PLAY, it doesn't mean anything for the regualr season, I hate Oakland, but Russell will be just fine when he gets settled in by the regular season.

Even if McFadden starts, He should be decent, and Fargas is no slouch, and Busch is a nice third option in the running came.

That's really the only points you made in your last argument.

Well Denver will see 9 wins this season, Cutler has his diabetes under control, Boss Bailey to help with the run, several new targets for Cutler, solid receiving TE in Scheffler, blocking TE, Graham, and a very solid RB in Selvin Young.

The only thing Denver really didn't improve on is it's kicker.

I guess you agreed, 13 wins for San Diego.

Same with 4 wins for Kansas City.

McFadden does have a lot of potential, and with 2 other solid backs to have his back will only help him. Javon Walker was added to the receiving corps along with Ron Currey. D-Hall will help their secondary.

Hey its my buddy Michael! Good luck.

I say Rams hit .500. People are forgetting all their injuried last year.

August 25, 2008  06:26 PM ET

Denver will be better but so will the Arizona and St. Louis.

August 25, 2008  06:40 PM ET

The NFC West will be better than the AFC with no questions asked. Seattle will have close to the same amount of wins with Chargers, Arizona will have more wins that Denver, 49ers will have more than Raiders, and Rams will have more than Chiefs.

Since Burt is facing the left, wouldnt that make him west bound?

August 25, 2008  07:10 PM ET

Leinart still has the starting job per the AZ Republic and Coach W. I can't say I'm for it, but that's the way it is.

Fargas is the starter in Oakland last time I checked, he didn't play in the preseason games, but is still considered the starter.

Everyone else is reporting that Warner is the starter.

Since arguments clearly don't matter to how you vote, Cass. I'll return the favor, here.

You have been hating on me in the voting forever. I owe you zero explanations.

August 25, 2008  07:27 PM ET

"You have been hating on me in the voting forever."

Hardly. But I'll be sure to join the rest of the biased voters against you in every TD as you are clearly doing with me. That's fine.

FYI, I was leaning well left on this one, but if you want to play games, I can play them too.

August 25, 2008  07:28 PM ET

I usually support Cass....but since she just voted in my tournament TD without the arguments being finished, but asks us to hold our votes here....vote right.

August 25, 2008  07:30 PM ET

Plus, she stated clearly in the comments that she wasn't voting the arguments, but voting her personal opinion about the topic. I'm thinking about something called "pot calling the kettle black".

August 25, 2008  07:30 PM ET

Preseason play ROY? That's a pretty weak predictor for the regular season, I will TD on this topic all day, you cannot predict the wins or loses for any team off the preseason. Also the Chargers will win 13, and KC will win 5 Therefor I am voting ---->

August 25, 2008  07:30 PM ET

ring ring

August 25, 2008  07:36 PM ET

Leaning left on opinion alone, I think the nfc west is overrated. i like all the teams in the afc west except the chiefs, I actually think the raiders will surprise people.

August 25, 2008  07:45 PM ET

right, lol not left, i cant multi task worth crap

August 25, 2008  07:46 PM ET

We call them YEARS, not yrs Cassidy.

Correct that, and maybe I'll vote for you. Or not.

The Prodigy is Hawaiian for #1 | 08/25/08, 07:30 PM "

Oh come on... The Colts are a HORRENDOUS pre-season team and always do great in the regular and post-season. Can't you see how good of a predictor this is?!?! LOL

August 25, 2008  07:48 PM ET

LOL, more shortened words means more room to argue. I kind of like U vs you, or yrs vs years.
