Sports Illustrated's pick of the Eagles versus the Patriots in the Superbowl for Febuary 2009 is wrong. Disagree? TD

The Pats finished the year 18-1. Odds are against them they get back to the Bowl giving that crushing finale to their almost perfect season.

The Eagles are the same offensive team as last year that MISSED the playoffs-McNabb @QB, Westbrook@ RB, Curtis@ WR.

Yeah, they upgraded their defense, but getting to the Superbowl? I saw the only reason Philly got to the Bowl a couple years ago was cuz T.O. and McNabb totally clicked. There will be no such chemistry this year.

Bring any noise you want that smells like Cheesesteak or Clam Chowder, but these two teams out of a HUGE combinations of Super Bowl teams will NOT meet.

You want 1200 characters every argument? Give me a reason.

Question- Why are the odds against the best team in the NFL to make the Superbowl? Just because they went 18-1 last year, they cant make it to the Super Bowl again?

Lets look at the NFC.
The only real contenders are the Cowboys.
If the Cowboys did anything this offseason, they signed trouble and lost good players.

Signing Pacman and Tank Johnson really helps the team compete........with the Bengals in total arrests.

The Eagles got who many call one of the best CBs in the league in Asante Samuel. They also drafted big time playmaker DeSean Jackson to help McNabb. The Eagles didnt lose a player on the offensive side of the ball and gained DeSean Jackson and Lorenzo Booker.

But back to the Patriots. I still dont understand how the odds are against the Patriots. Usually when a team does good the past season, they are favorites.

You talked about no chemistry with the Eagles... how bout no chemistry with the Cowboys. Well, there may be chemistry involved with the making of the meth, but that isnt the kind we are talking about.

Sorry for jumping around from team to team...

Guthrie, in all due respect to u, did u really think this TD was about the Pats making the Super Bowl again?

I KNOW THE PATS R MOST LIKELY TO GET THERE!

That being said, THE EAGLES WILL NOT MAKE IT!

Ok, all u Eagles and NFC East fans that will automatically vote right because u think either the Cowboys or their rivals like the Giants did last year will make it are misinformed: The Superbowl team from the NFC will come from the North or the East, but NOT the Eagles.

D-McNabb is a fossil. Westbrook had a career year last year and the Eagles still missed the playoffs. So the Eagles upgraded their D. Problem is they lost 5 out of 8 games by 4 points or less=offense wasnt scoring enough points.

The Cowboys are a HUGE threat to the Eagles getting to the SB again.

U say the Cowboys have no chemistry?

Same QB, WR, RB(starter) as last yr's team who went 13-3!

Guthrie, no offense, but what the frick are u talking about? I dont even need to fanmail on this TD. Uu are saying u know who the AFC & NFC reps in the SB r going to b before the season starts?

Tell ur parents to hit Atlantic City n bet a 100K on Guthries pick n watch your parents go beyond broken.

"did u really think this TD was about the Pats making the Super Bowl again?"

Well, the title did say that the picks of the Eagles AND the Patriots in the SB was wrong. And you did say that the odds are against the Patriots of making the SB. So i figured, hey, why not argue for the Patriots.

Ha, McNabb a fossil at 32? What does that make you then?...dirt?
Oh, and by the way...Tom Brady will be 31 this year. Manning will be 32. Hell, Favre will be 39.

At the age of 31, McNabb is not a fossil. In 1999, Steve Beuerlein led the league in passing yards at the age of 37. Elway lead the league in 93 at age 33. Moon led in 90+91 at the ages of 34 and 35. Why cant McNabb be a good QB at the age of 32?

When healthy, McNabb is a top 5 QB in the NFL.

"Problem is they lost 5 out of 8 games by 4 points or less=offense wasnt scoring enough points. "

Or you could always upgrade the defense so that they give up 5 less points. That works too.

"Uu are saying u know who the AFC & NFC reps in the SB r going to b before the season starts? "

Umm, where you expecting the person who accepted the TD to agree with you? You are doing the same thing.
