First off i'd like to say that it's pretty wack. I know a prediction is a prediction but still.
The 1st problem i had was they had MY Falcons 2-14?
Wow, I know they are not going to do too much but Matt Ryan has showed promise like a 74 yard drive on Jacksonville's 1st string in the preseason.
With the Addittion of Michael turner i hope we when more than last year. Roddy White is coming a long and will be a nice combo for the Rookie Matt Ryan. Roddy White last year recieved 50 more receptions and totaled 6 td's and i believe over a 1,000 yards.
My guess is the Falcon's 5-12 or at tops 6-11.
The next thing I have a problem with is their Superbowl pick.
The Patriots vs the Eagles?
You have to be kidding SI?!
Anyways, i disagree with SI on those two fronts, if you agree with both things then BRING IT.

It may sound silly to say the Eagles will play in a rematch against the Pats but...
- The best team form the NFC and the best team from the AFC ussaly do not end up playing against eachother in the Super Bowl
- I can think of 256 diiferent possibilities for who will play who in the superbowl the most "Logical" by FN standards is " Bolts n' Boys" but that doesn't mean it's gonna happen.
- I don't disagree with them becuase it is a reasonable choice and its hard to really say who WILL make the Super Bowl without knowing the future
- If they said the Pats n' Giants last year you'd probably disagree too.
- Based on history I can tell you why all 32 teams will not go to the Super Bowl- but 2 have to anyway
Now on to ATL:
- I see possible wins in KC, CHI amd maybe St.Louis and Oakland but it's impossible to say who they will beat considering that teams have at least 4-5 games a season in which the outcome is not what is expected.
- They will improve, but their W/L record Should not- still impossible to have a true debate over.

Philly has two new linebackers and didn't even make the playoffs. I kinda agree with the Pats but NOT the Eagles. The Eagles will be solid but that's it. I think MINNESOTA w/ Tavaris Jackson has a better chance than the Eagles. I do like McNabb but they didn't even get Boldin and WESTBROOK can't do EVERYTHING.
The Falcons will win 5 or 6 games. I think Matt Ryan will have some highlights this year. Matt Ryan has promise. Also, Turner has scrambled for two 50 plus yard plays in preseason which means he is DANGEROUS, I know it's the preseason though.Boley at linebacker is a beast and John Abraham when healthy is a beast as well. We still have Lawyer Milloy and the cornerbacks are very young but dunno? We have Jerious Norwood who is blazing fast to return punts hopefully.
THE SB:
I like the Colts vs Vikings.
Make your pick?
Jrich23 said 08/28, 03:23 PM
Westbrook can't do anything?
Travaris Jackson?
Falcons winning 6 games? Against who? They may improve but that doesn't mean their W/L record will.
Colts and Vikings.
That's reasonable but honestly it's no more reasonable than the Pats vs. Eagles matchup.
The Colts suck in the playoffs and the Eagles went to the NFC Championship 5 straight seasons so it's not a bad choice considering the Cowboys are the toughest team and they haven't won in the playoffs in about 10 years- I can't even remember the last time Minnesota did anything with their start players anyway.
The Falsons??
They will be better but their schedule has them favored to win 2 games 3 at the most so I'm not just going to accept a prediction of 5-6 wins without a reason.
Matt Ryan= unproven
Michael Turner=unproven
Lawyer Milloy= Done
Norwood,Boley and Abraham = not enough to boost this team past other teams that are better on their schedule.
Peach said 08/28, 06:36 PM
Westbrook can't do anything?
Jrich23 said 08/28, 03:23 PM
What i was saying was Westbrook is like 60% of their plays, he NEEDS SOME HELP,WR spot maybe.
Travaris Jackson?
Jrich23 said 08/28, 03:23 PM
Rex Grossman ring a bell? Yeah, he had GREAT defense too!
Listen, you didn't even give your SB preview. lol
Dude, SI has the Eagles GOING 12-4 and the Cowboy's 10-6. That's absurd to me.
I Like McNabb but they didn't get another WR. I think if they had Anquin Boldin then i wouldn't hate so bad. Picking up Ashante Samuel will help but their linebackers I've never HEARD OF.
The Falcons are on the bottom of the list of nfl teams but do hAVE PROMISE. Matt Ryan is VERY GOOD. He will surprise a lot of people. If somehow this teams gels and Turner blows up, he could be up for rookie of the year w/ McFadden.
The Eagles in the SB is kinda weird. That's like saying Vince Young is SB bound. j/k lol
Eagles 12-4 highly doubt it
Cowboy's lose the division to the Eagles...highly doubt it.
The Falcons will win 5 games. The Falcons being 2-14 is hating on Matt Ryan but he is good. He can scramble a little bit and can throw the DEEP BALL. Roddy White is that
Jrich23 said 08/28, 06:56 PM
Westbrook, Decent WRs a good QB ( injury prone- I don't care), a pretty good O-Line despite being old.
I never said the Eagles will go 12-4 but the Super Bowl wouldn't be a sursprise.
ROY is probably gonna end up going to my bor Jonathan Stewart but anyway The Falcons are favored to win 2 games so it's a stretch saying they will win 4-6 games.
The Eagles total Defense last year was 10th add in that they are getting a ball hawk Corner who could even loosen up the rest of 'D" to the point where they become an even better pass rush team- Asante Samuel.
The Falcons have promise but they are still one of the top 5 worst teams and a top5 worst team is not going to win 6 games. I doubt the Eagles will win that many games but I never said they would I'm simpily saying I don't disagree with SI's picks becuase the odds of the Two best teams playing each other are just as likely.

So what your Super Bowl picks? Its easy to criticize, harder to go out and make a pick that might not be the popular one.

For once I agree with Peach.... amazing huh. The Falcons are better than people give them credit for, they have a good run game, good receivers, Sam Baker could be a pro-bowl lineman in the near future, and Ryan has showed plenty of potential.

I agree with their Super Bowl prediction, but I think the Falcons will scrounge up a 4 win season.

I can see the Falcons getting 6 wins but you know the writers can't pick to many upsets. As for the SB? No one picked the Giants to win with 2 minutes left, let alone at the start of the season.

"The Falcons being 2-14 is hating on Matt Ryan but he is good."
He's a rookie QB on a bad team. That usually results in disaster. Troy Aikman is a Hall of Famer but he went 0-11 his rookie year. Peyton Manning went 3-13 his rookie year. It isn't hating on Matt Ryan, it's recognizing that rookie QB's, no matter how good they might turn out, on bad teams usually means a piss poor record.
