On the Site that Shall not be named

They have a Poll, and like Baltimore Brigade with a Speak and Spell, they get a little Crazy

The Question

Who is the greatest in Jags history?

THIER Pick?

Fred Taylor

I want ONE of the 52.1% (I know some of you visit both sites)
to DEFEND this MISTAKE

My Pick?

Tony Boselli

HOW IS THIS EVEN A THROWDOWN? TONY BOSELLI?

Tony Boselli was a good player but hurt 95% of the time. He was the O-line blocker for Natrone Means so you can tell how long ago he was a player and the Jags werent good back then.

Fred Taylor helped the Jags in the Playoffs. He is the starting RB for the Jags beside his tag team partner in Jones Drew. He played longer than Boselli, more productive than Boselli. He helped them defeat the Steelers to advance and almost helped them defeat the undefeated Pats.

Well you might want to check your numbers- in his 6 years (96 games) before his major injury- Tony played in 91 games

96/91 is a WEE bit higher than 5% playing

SPEAKING of injuries

in the 10 year 160 game career or Mr Taylor he has played 127 games

a wee bit more missed games than the 5 that Tony Missed- Fred has only played TWO of TEN years all 16 games.

So In playing time vs IR - its all Tony there.

Fred was there 4 years longer

Fred is a RB so he gets hit a lot more times than OL.

Plus unless you ask Jag fans that have been there all the time, no one has heard of Tony Boselli. Most fans dont even remember that Mark Brunell was the not starting QB for the Jags.

Fred Taylor played in more games than Tony. He is a RB so he touches the ball more so his name is mentioned more often than OL. He has better stats than Boselli.

I know Fred gets hurt most of the time. Why do you think his nickname is "Fragile Fred" but he is a heluva lot better than Tony Boselli.

Fred is a RB so he gets hit a lot more times than OL.

I am Stunned at that statement- there is not a PLAYER ON THE FEILD that gets hit more than a Lineman- and a defensive lineman and O-Lineman get hit 100% of the time on down 1-3 and the only time they DON:T get hit is on Punting plays - IF they don;t blitz

Plus unless you ask Jag fans that have been there all the time,

So does that mean that since Unitas played in Balt - he should be thrown out as the Colts GOAT? Or Tony is more recent than Montana, Largent or Lawrence Taylor - I guess they don;t count either?

GOAT- GREATEST OF ALL TIME - not best of past 5 years

He has better stats than Boselli.

I'm just going to ignore that

I know Fred gets hurt most of the time. Why do you think his nickname is "Fragile Fred"

Who's side are you ON??

Fred is a RB so he gets hit a lot more times than OL.- You cant be serious the offensive line have to intiate contact with 300 pound mammoths rushing at them every play. You lost my vote with that statement

I don't know, Boselli was a bit before my time, but he was great when he played. I don't know if Taylor has played enough games.....

"Fred is a RB so he gets hit a lot more times than OL.- You cant be serious the offensive line have to intiate contact with 300 pound mammoths rushing at them every play. You lost my vote with that statement"

Exactly.

Jimmy Smith anyone?

David, please make fun of me the next time you do one of these.

Leaning far left for now.

September 2, 2008  12:49 AM ET

Vote left for the dumbest statement I have ever heard in that a RB gets hit more than a OL.

September 2, 2008  01:08 AM ET

"Fred is a RB so he gets hit a lot more times than OL"

Huh? An OL gets hit on EVERY SINGLE PLAY.

I went with Brunell...Boselli was dominate, but injury prone. He doesn't even deserve to be the 1st cat in the Ring of Honor...

September 2, 2008  02:13 AM ET

"Plus unless you ask Jag fans that have been there all the time, no one has heard of Tony Boselli. Most fans dont even remember that Mark Brunell was the not starting QB for the Jags."

You must not be a Jags fan...we know who Boselli is. Ya might wanna forfeit this one before it gets ugly...

September 2, 2008  04:23 AM ET

did you say a RB gets hit more often then an O-lineman? do you watch football?

every down a DE or DT hit them like clock work. Sometimes multiple times in one play and these are the biggest ugliest and strongest guys on the field. RBs take there fair share of a beating but the lineman take more punishment than anyone, maybe except for David Carr while he was in houston.

September 2, 2008  09:12 AM ET

does anybody notice that these TD's are listed under "Cycling"?

September 2, 2008  10:32 AM ET

"He has better stats than Boselli."

Did you just compare RB stats to LT stats? Uh...Ki-Jana Carter has better stats than Tony Boselli. You think that proves anything???

The best Jaguar is clearly Dennis Northcutt. Duh.
