Rich Franklin v Matt Hamill

I got Rich. Pick first then let's throwdown.


I'll take Big John McCarthy

ok FINE I'll take Matt Da Hammah Hamill


I don't know why I said hold arguments, kinda dumb in this case but whatever.

So Ace is going to work Matt Hammil like his name was Annie and he had a hard knocked life. Rich had been owning the MW division until one Mr. Anderon Silva stepped onto the scene. In my opinion Rich can beat anyone at that wieght but Silva. So Rich has decided to move up, and his first fight comes against Matt. Matt is a really stud wrestler, and he has been working on his striking, however I believe this fight comes down to a couple of things:

1. Experience. You cannot underrate Rich's experience he is 10-2 in the Octagon and 23-3 overall.

2. Style. Rich is a really good wrestler in his own right, however I believe he has heavier hands then Hammil. Hammil's hands have come around, but I don't see him Koing Rich.

Hammil will attempt takedowns in an effort to mount Rich, Rich is savy enough to avoid these, and keep the fight on its feet. Rich has shown numerous times he can take pnishment, so if this fight stays upright Rich wins.


Here is the Think Rich "Third Face" Franklin is one of my favorite fighters - yet of all the first 2 seasons of the UF he amoung all the coaches has had the hardest time with the new fighters- and Matt is going to be even worse for him.

Really? The how is it that Jeremy Horn and Shonie Carter are not champions- they have more fights then thier entire DIVISIONS

Rich is 3-2 in his last 5 fights- true he lost to the baddest man on the planet - but still

and how good IS that 3rd Face? Rich has PROVEN he can be hurt.

Matt is one of the BEST wrestlers MMA has seen- and he does NOT do the Lay and Pray either- he stays Moblie.

Rich is a SLOW starter - he has not had a round 1 win since fighting Nathan Quarry WAY back after TUF 2 - and he has never shown great Sprawl either- I don;t think Matt is going to have a problem holding him down- Rich may be a VERY technical fighter- but he not the Marksman of strkiing- Matt can take a punch and he will work to finish- having jobbed to the judges before.


Choanie "take that Serra" Carter, and Jeremy "who haven't I fought" Horn are not in Franklin's league. Choanie would still be in the XFL while Rich "He hate me" Franklin is busting lose in the NFL.

Rich is 3-2 in his last 5 fights two of those loses to who? Exactly. So outside of losing to a great fighter, what exactly makes you underate his last five fights.

Rich is a slow starter? Nay I say. He came out and jumped on Anderson in that fight, it just didn't work against Da Sypda.

Rich can also receive instruction from his corner to make adjustments mid fight, Matt cannot.

Who has Matt fought exactly? He lost to Bisping (albeit he shoulda won) but he left that fight up to the judges because he couldn't finish Bisping. He beat Tim Boetsch (also on the fight card and I really like this guy) however he isn't exactly a big name yet.

So Matt lost the only fight he has had against a solid fighter. He is not a Brock Lesnar light as some folks make him out to be, he is a handful, but one that Rich will gladly handle.

Rich has beaten better talent then Hammill and will beat Hammill this weekend.

may want to pop on You tube there- Rich was the one that got backed up- and Face 3.0 might have been better off laying on the ground hoping Anderson jumped on him

I have no idea what you are talking about- you act as if Matt is deaf or something- I mean did this happen in the past week or something- does Dana know of this fact? Should we postpone the fight?

I hope you forgive Matt for not starting his career fighting Cro-Cop, Fedor and BJ Penn- and having to work his way up the card- yes Rich will be the first fighter of major note that Matt has faced- but I don;t know if Rich has faced a man with the GROUND Skills of Hammill yet- Lutter went 8 minutes before losing to Franklin - and Matt is MUCH more active than he is.

Rich is going to spend a TON of time on his back- and I'll take the wrester over the striker ANY DAY

Rich has the decided advantage striking. Hamil has the decided advantage on the ground, and is strong as an ox. To me the fact that Hamil is deaf is a big advantage for him he can nothing to distract him such as five different guys in his corner yelling different things for him to try if he is in a bad situation. He was robbed against Bisping anyone who thinks otherwise needs to go to the Betty Ford clinic. Should be a good competitive fight. I think Hamil will be desperate to not let the fight go to the scorecards with the possibility of getting ripped off again, and in his desperation will make mistakes that Ace will capitolize on which will be the difference. Ace by late round stoppage.
