1. No stealing my idea
2. No Pushing- pick a side first, no arg, you can put a record if you like.
3. If you don't LIKE the TD concept- then go start your own TDs and get the SMURF offa mine.

Will the W/L of the JAGS improve or Decline

My Pick DECLINE

The Jags with absolutely improve this season.

Last year, they were a DAMN good team. This year, they are even better.

Last year, David Garrard was named the starter days before the season started. He went through the whole offseason and preseason on the second team. This year, he comes in prepared to be the starting QB and team leader.

Another year, more improvements for the man known as MJD. Jones-Drew continues to improve every year, and this year will be no different. What also won't be different is he is backed up by the great Fred Taylor.

The wideouts have also improved. The acquisitions of Joey Porter and Troy Willamson are sure to improve the passing game even more than last year.

And the defense, continually stellar. Expect improvements as their young defense gets a year older and a year wiser.

pick a side first, no arg, you can put a record if you like.

Oh well.

The Jags went 11-5 last year- meaning they need to go 12-4 to win this.

and I nearly went there as well.

Issues

1. the Sched- You get the Colts 2 times, Minny, @Ravens, Pitt, -- thats a fairly tall order- and you never know with the Bills,Packers,Browns and the Titans and Texans might do.

Or Cleveland and Denver

that is a VERY tall order there.

2. 17th in passing- and that was on a GREAT year by DG- who exactly are the wideouts there? Porter, Northcutt, Jones? Not really Wayne and Harrison- Heck Not even Roy and Calvin.

3. 15th vs the pass- and they got TORE UP by the Pats with quick routes- Yes the G-Men hurt Brady- But Brady hurt this D.

Coaches watch more games than the Super Bowl- and lets add that the Texans hung 42 points on this team week 17.

Sorry about screwing the first part up. As you guessed, I'll go with 12-4.

This unit will be a better passing offense than last year for sure.

Last year, the top two receivers for the Jags were -
Reggie Williams - 629 yards
Dennis Northcutt - 601 yards

The Jags just added -
Jerry Porter - 705 yards last year

The Jags also added Troy Williamson, and as I said before, David Garrard is going into his first season where he prepared as the starting QB for a team, and he has put up decent numbers in the past going in unprepared.

So your top 2 wideouts both barely crack 600 yards-

and thats a Good thing? You add in Jerry Porter, who got dumped by Oakland- because Lawd knows THEY have too many good wideouts over there-

You do know that Porter has caught 45 passes that last two years- COMBINED - and has never cracked 1K yards ??

and that is the savior to get a 12 win season?? Really?

Troy Williamson now he did have 79 catches for 1067yards and 3 TDs

no wait

that was his 3 year TOTALS- Tell me again how he helps? If they sign Akili Smith and Curtis Enis- they don;t get better at QB and RB do they??

I think they will be a BETTER team- but sadly like the rest of the DIV- I don;t see it being reflective in the W/L

Yes, they will be a better team. You know who won't be a better team? The Colts.

Defense getting old, banged up Marvin Harrison. Peyton' status for the beginning of the year is questionable.

And the Titans as well. VY has not yet proven his skill translates to the pro ranks. They still do not have WRs.

You argued both of these teams records will drop in previous TDs.

So that leaves room for the Jags to improve. If only one game, they have room to improve within the division. And that will reflect in the W/L record.

If the Jags keep getting busted with blow, beating people up and getting shot, they will definitley decline.

The Jags will be no doubt be good, but improving their record from last year with that schedule? I think not. They are playoff bound, but will not be 12-4.
