1. No stealing my idea
2. No Pushing- pick a side first, no arg, you can put a record if you like.
3. If you don't LIKE the TD concept- then go start your own TDs and get the SMURF offa mine.

Will the W/L of the COLTS improve or Decline

My Pick DECLINE

1.I don't care to steal your idea or anyone else's however your format should include "stay the same" as an option, especially when dealing with top tier teams.

2. No one is more "pushy" than you my relocated home-boy friend!

3.If I didn't like the concept, why would I bother acctpting the challenge.

I believe the Indianaplolis Colts will NOT decline. It is likely they will have a similar record to their 13-3 record of a year ago and will be the AFC South Champs for the 6th consecutive year!

please don;t call me your boy friend

I don;t know how it was back in the Hoggard Locker room back in the 50s but in MY day we didn;t go there

Ok to improve they have to go 14-2

Issues

1. PEYTON - how is he? How would you like to have your QB that is a bit dinged up play this 4some

Minny, Jax,TEX and balt

Welcome to weeks 2-6 Peyton!

2. The Sched
Jagsx2, Minny,PATS,SD,Pitt,

Not too Shabby, add in the Texans,Browns, Bengals and Packers and you have a VERY tough streach.

3. You lost Utecht-normally not bad to lose a second string TE- But when your QB likes the 2 TE set and he is your 5th leading receiver, bad juju

4. Harrison- is he back? Can Wayne carry the load if not?

5. That O-Line- Peyton was sacked 21 times- the most since 2002 thats not good. and you might have a Rookie on the line too.

1. Manning had the infected bursa sac near his left knee removed in July. This is NOT a football injury and there is no reason to believe he won't be fine. At worst, he misses the first game at home versus the Bears who will put up few points on a very good Colt defensive. After that, it's bombs away!

2. The schedule: Give me a break. Indy can score on anyone and they have a great defense to back that up.
Vikings - can score and defend the run but are terrible against the pass! UH OH!
Ravens - aging defense and a rookie QB. No problem
Texas - Inconsistant offense and weak at the DB position.
Steelers - They no longer have the dominant defense and thus will have to try and out score Indy! Not gonna happen.
Packers - please, Aaron Rogers?
Bengals - Can you say disfunctional and under-achieving?

They have 4 tough games. Jax twice (home and away), Patriots at home and the Chargers in San Diego. They will take 2 of 4 minimum and could easily take 3 of 4.

Wayne had 1500+ yards, 100+ receptions and 10 TDs last year W/O Harrison. Is that NOT "carrying the load?" Harrison's knees haven't been an issue and Gonzalez has become a supurb possession reciever!

I'm not saying they are going to go 1-4

I am saying that you have a dinged QB- and those 4 teams will rush the QB.

The Ravens will most likely lose the game- but i bet they get a dozen good hits on Manning

I know you were there when Marino became a statue
well, when Namath became a statue
well heck when James Monroe became a statue

and if the injury was "nothing" then why was he not playing ONE down in the pre-season?

yes Wayne had a GREAT YEAR- but is he going to continue it? There have been a LOT of great number 2s that could not handle being Number 1.

The Colts have won 10+ for a LONG time- and all good things can come to an end- I'm not saying 8-8 but 12-4 is VERY easy to see.

Manning is 32 and is going to get hit this year-
Wayne is 30

and lets look at something a bit odd- They do not have a DB that has more than 4 years in the NFL - they are VERY young back there.

Plus this is Tonys last year - is he going to spend a few extra minutes looking at fishing boats and not that new Corner in Cincy or Detroit?

So you would consider 12-4 a decline from 13-3? That is a pretty stiff standard to hold any team to.

You act as if Manning had a serious knee injury and reconstructive surgery. He had an inflamed bursa sac removed. This is called "bursitis." By all medical accounts, this is NO big deal. The reason he sat out during the preseason is for the extra time to heal. There is little to be gained by Peyton playing and limiting the wear and tear on your QB can only be a good thing. A QB of his caliber can do without the reps.
He is a relatively young man, he isn't Namath, Marino or even "Madison" just yet. If you want to talk about old, let's talk about the Raven's "D"

News Flash, Wayne has had Four straight years of 1000 yard seasons, three of which went for 9 or more TDs. Last year was NOT a fluke and he did it without the threat of Harrison on the other side of the field.

On one hand you try to say that the Colts are aging and are due for decline, then counter with condemning their DBs for being too young. You can not have it both ways. Another piece of info, young DBs are both fast and fearless. Not a bad combo! I haven't heard anyone but you concerned with Indy's defense?

Obi Wan is a seer of truth and victories!

Fantastic TD so far. I should have known the Pimp would be the 1 to come up with a TD theme...again.

September 4, 2008  03:22 PM ET

Now this is a TD!!

ROUND 2!!! DING DING

September 4, 2008  04:48 PM ET

This is interesting, we'll see how it turns out.

September 4, 2008  07:05 PM ET

david, your giving too much credit for the teams listed on the colts schedule....texas baltimore, minney GB browns, and bengals are VERY skeptic teams all which have hype coming into the season with little to back there case for being actual contenders and good teams.

September 4, 2008  07:06 PM ET

coach, at the same time indy going 14-2 is a stretch as well...final arguments will have to tell this tale

September 4, 2008  08:11 PM ET

So you would consider 12-4 a decline from 13-3? That is a pretty stiff standard to hold any team to.

Uh since the TITLE says improve or Decline and the number is 13,

yes

September 4, 2008  08:13 PM ET

Great TD, but arguments are slightly better from David

September 4, 2008  08:42 PM ET

Well it came down too personally do I think they can get 14-2? No. Did coach defend his position slightly more efficient. Yes. Close but I vote right>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ;>>>>>>>>

September 4, 2008  09:09 PM ET

Good TD. Vote right, by a slight margin.

September 5, 2008  08:41 AM ET

Vote right by a slight margin as well.

September 5, 2008  09:19 AM ET

I think with Saturday out and a rookie at center is a problem but I think they will still win the divison

September 5, 2008  09:21 AM ET

based on arguments I have to give a slight edge right
