I will argue this as I have the rest of the NFL
1. No stealing my idea
2. No Pushing- pick a side first, no arg, you can put a record if you like.
3. If you don't LIKE the TD concept- then go start your own TDs and get the SMURF offa mine.
Will the W/L of the Titans improve or Decline
My Pick DECLINE
Agrippa said 09/04, 02:52 PM
I believe this is a team on the up and up.
First crucial change started with new offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger who called the plays during McNair???s co-MVP year. Working with McNair he knows how to play too a mobile QB's strength and I think will help develop him as a passer. He has a cannon for an arm and a new coach can help accuracy and his decision making skills.
So you say improvement? There is one already in a literal sense. ^
They come back with a potent running 3 headed monster led by a vastly improved LenDale White who ran for 1,110 yards and seven touchdowns in his first season starting. They also have Chris Henry.
Their 1st rd draft pick Chris Johnson ran the fastest 40 (4.24) at this year???s combine. This is a new weapon that led the NCAA in all-purpose yards per game 227.69 in 2007. He will see significant playing time this year.
Pro Bowler Alge Crumpler was added this year. If there is one thing Vince knows how to do is utilize the TE. He used his TE profusely in UT's championship run and even more so in the NFL. When scrambling he is always looking underneath for his TE.
You say improve^^ I would say these are all improvements.

SO they have a FOUR headed monster at RB?
You know what it means when you have 4 Running Backs?
You don;t have ONE
yes the 2 Headed back is great- but don;t you think that the Titans might have been better off working on that 27th ranked passing more than that 5th ranked rushing?
Chris Johnson is Fast? Really? and how many Gold Medals does Jerry Rice, Alvin Harper and Randy Moss have? I don;t think I ever saw anyone catch them from behind either.
That Running game might have a bit of a hiccup- losing 2 starters- So that 5th ranked Rush attack might have some kinks early on.
Next the Sched
Jax,Ind twice, PLus Minny, Balt and Pitt
Thats a fun ride- Plus the Browns,Packers,Jets as well.
Keep in mind-you only can lose 5 of these
unless Vince tosses a LOT more than the NINE he threw last year or the TWELVE That is his HIGH- they Titans are skimming a VERY close edge- and with the rest of the Div improving and a MUCH harder Sched with a TON of potential
nope
Agrippa said 09/04, 06:48 PM
3 headed not 4 my good sir.
White is a clear cut thousand yard rusher.
You say improvement I present Chris Johnson.
You say "he is fast?Really?"
Yes. Just another additive to accentuate what the man is capable of. 227.69 all-purpose yards per game isn't an indicator of what he may do in the NFL but it nothing to slouch at. He has potential.
"working on that 27th ranked passing" - Come on Pimp, I addressed that with that Crumpler pick up. This is a man that was rotting away in Hotlanta behind inferior QB's. He will definitely improve their passing game.
If you need more, Tennessee wont exactly have big name stars but they are deep with talented receivers. Veteran Justin McCareins, Justin Gage,Chris Davis Brandon Jones, Roydell Williams, Paul Williams and rookie Lavelle Hawkins.
They plan to run plenty of two-tight end formations so Bo Scaife and Craig Stevens will get plenty of reps.
They are returning a decent line in franchise left tackle Michael Roos who is an underrated 6'7" 315-pound beast. He's started 48 consecutive games.Guard Jake Scott who helped anchor the Colts offensive line is highly underrated and durable. He IMPROVE an already stellar line.

Whoa!!
Let me please apologise for missing the greatness of Alge Crumpler - Mean this guy should get Vince YOung 35 Tds and a SURE FIRE number one passing offense!!
Coach, forgive me- but my fellow Wildcat is NOT THAT GREAT - he was a Malcontent in Atlanta- who thankfully were SO blessed with offensive talent they had to let him go.
let me ask you a Question- how many 1K yard seasons does Crumples have?
That would be ZERO
How many seasons of 50+ catches does this Wunderkind have?
2, in SEVEN years.
and Odd Vick didn;t seem to stink when he went to 3 Pro-Bowls in 5 years as a starter- and took the Falcons to the South Title and 2 playoff games
Plus beating Green Bay IN Green Bay
Just another additive to accentuate what the man is capable of. 227.69 all-purpose yards per game isn't an indicator of what he may do in the NFL but it nothing to slouch at. He has potential.
Potential! Whoa! Like Peter Warrick? Like Tim Couch? Like BRIAN (yes I'm going there) BOSWORTH? Like (insert Penn State RB here) ?? Like Rex Grossman? Like (insert Heisman 89-94, winner here)
Rick Mirer had a TON of "potential" as well.
Agrippa said 09/04, 08:29 PM
"this guy should get Young 35 Tds and a SURE FIRE number one passing offense!!" - Im glad you agree pimp. You may as well forfeit.
Woaaa! I never said he was going to be the messiah or a little 8 pound 6 oz baby Jesus but merely an upgrade. Any TE that can get you 8-900 years and 5+ touchdowns is an upgrade over Bo Scaife who hasn't broken more than 2 TD's in a year of 500 yards in a season.
"1K yard seasons does Crumples have" - Is this all you look for in a TE. This man is also a great blocker who can get down field. There was only 3 TE's last year with 1k + yards. I guess the rest were garbage huh?
"Potential! Whoa! Like Peter Warrick?" - King of rhetoric. Nice. You know that's not what I meant. I meant he can be worked into the game as a weapon.
Well lets talk about there. D. That is the main reason they will stay in games and will improve. There defense brought back Jevon Kearse to be the flip side to and amazing right side of the line with Kyle Vanden Bosh and Albert Haynesworth. I'm sure there Defenses will be amongst the top this year again.
As much as people hate on VY he still led this team to 10 wins and the playoffs for 2 years. You all act like he is ROY!

The Titans only made it to the playoffs last year because Indy rested their players. VY still needs improvement.

I respect your opinion however what did you think about the arguments?

You had good arguments Agrippa, they just didn't convince me.

You mentioned the receiver depth, but without a consistent QB... And Tennessee when 10-6 last year, it will be difficult to improve over that finish IMO.

I think the TE is going to be a crucial position for them this year. VY is good at finding his TE and TN is known for it. We shall see. They will use a lot of 2 TE sets this year adding Crumpler

I'm voting right. Great job countering David's points about the 1,000 yd TE's, and Johnsons speed coming in addition to his ability to lead the NCAA in all-purpose yards/game.

I agree Stowe and I addressed that "227.69 all-purpose yards per game isn't an indicator of what he may do in the NFL but it nothing to slouch at" -
What I don't understand is how VY sucks but he wins.
