When it looked hopeful for the Browns at the end of last year, all hell broke loose this year, and it appears to me that the Browns are going to be back on the bottom, and I bet that Corny-smell gets fired this year. The browns will Not have a winning season....and they will fire cornell at the end of this year, once again, starting all over.

First off, it's spelled Crennel.

Yes the Browns seem like they won't have a winning season, however they will not be firing Romeo. Here are 3 good reasons.

1. They will be starting Brady Quinn very soon, and Romeo will be cut a little slack because of it. And you never know, maybe Quinn can give a little luck o' the Irish to this team and salvage this season.

2. Romeo just signed a big new contract, the front office won't be so fast to give him the boot.

3. Statistically, the D has shown improvement. So far they are 18th in PPG, they were 22nd last year, 23rd in YPG, 30th last year. So that maybe enough to save his job.

1-9: Browns record in season openers since returning in 1999.
Crennel won three Super Bowls in four seasons as the defensive coordinator of the New England Patriots.

Chris Palmer 1999???2000
Butch Davis 2001???2004
Terry Robiskie 2004 (Interim)
Romeo Crennel 2005???present

What is the average span here that a head coach is kept?? 3 or 4 years.

Crennel is a great defensive coordinator. In the event he gets fired, I would love to see him replace Dick L. from the steelers when he decides to retire as a devensive coordinator.

Crennel has great experience as line coaches, defensive coordinators and speacial teams coach, but like all of the other head coaches for Cleveland, he cant make anything out of that team. Neither could Beliechick or barely any other coach for that matter.

What's with all the question marks? Are you asking me if Butch Davis coached from '01-'02?

"1-9: Browns record in season openers since returning in 1999."

Which should be reason NOT to panic, the Browns always start slow. And I fail to see how this realtes to Crennel getting the boot.

"Crennel won three Super Bowls in four seasons as the defensive coordinator of the New England Patriots. "

Call me crazy, I want a guy with 3 Super Bowl rings to be running my team.

"What is the average span here that a head coach is kept?? 3 or 4 years."

It always makes me chuckle when people say stuff like "this is going to happen to him because it happened to this guy". What does other coaches getting fired at a certain point have to do with Crennel?

"Crennel has great experience as line coaches, defensive coordinators and special teams coach"

All reasons that he STAYS head coach of the Browns. He has the pieces to make this a great defense in the near future, and I don't think the Browns are an incredibly dumb franchise, they know firing a coach still putting pieces in place is a dumb idea.

I could say couple things were wrong with that, but there is no way the Browns will have a winning season.

i would accept....if you were ignorant and had picked to go with Clevland.

the dawg house is gonna be mad this year...

Well for starters it's not all Romeo's fault. Idk if you knew this or not but Donte Stallworth and Joe J. haven't been playing yet. Also the offensive lines has had a couple injuries.
And as we all know all the $ they spent on their D during the draft hasn't done a darn thing.

And until all these things get good or back to normal Anderson isn't going to do so well and I really don't think it's going to matter what all Romeo does. No players no plays.

Cleveland, its completely and enitrely faultable to TWO people.

Crennell and his random FGs to lose the game

Anderson and his "I MUST win this game myself" attitude. As soon as QUinn comes in, the games get a lot closer and we start winning again. Anderson just isnt cut to be an NFL QB. No wonder he put up #'s last year... you see that schedule? Quinn time.

Sorry folks, but the Puppy Pound doesn't intimidate anyone.

When the Browns did "well" last year, it created something called Expectations. Raised expectations + no results = fired coach.
