In all of sports, there is always one story that whenever i hear it, i want to roll my eyes into the back of my head... The curse of the billy goat...

In 1945, (so the cubs already had 37 years of futility before then, what were those 37years, the curse of futility?), some dude wanted to bring hist goat to a game, and not surprising, security told him to sod off... so somehow that was bad luck?? who cares if the stupid goat gets to watch the game or not?? what the goat was going to come out on the pitch and go 4 for 4??

To me, it just sounds like, oh, the red sox have that really cool curse of the bambino, so we need one too... oh damn, we dont have anything to curse us about, ah, i got it!!! ours will involve some kind of farm animal!! Eureka:)

Umm....the Cubs don't have a curse.

They just suck.

There is no such thing as curses. Usually when one team loses, it's because they suck. Look at the Mariners...

So stop being satanist.

I thought the curse of the Bambino was legitimate...
After they trade away the greatest basebll player of all time for money to help some bad broadway show, they go into 8.5decades of failure...

U cant think of any sports story, that just sucks?

Im sorry curses do exist. Also if you are not gonna take his td seriously why just bash it, and destroy it?

Babes called home run in the World Series against....the Cubs.

It's the worst story because it never happened, but the myth still gets passed down and the majority of people do believe it. In fact, MLB purposely perpetuated the myth over the All-Star weekend by adding a "Babe Ruth call your shot" thing to the home run contest. Baseball and Babe Ruth enough tradition and great stories without continuing the lie.

It did happen and it wasn't a 1 time thing. Like the owner of the bar showed up for 1 game and he wasn't allowed in. He had been bringing the goat for many years and b/c of the Series they turned him away.
Not saying this is why they haven't played in World Series, but it wasn't 1x thing or a myth based on fiction.
