Alright my choice for NFL MVP so far this season would have to be Tom Brady. He has been one of the best QBs on one of the best teams in the NFL. The Patriots are probably the best team playing right now.
Tom Brady Stats
TD : 13
INT : 2
Yards : 1118
QB Rating : 134.7
Completion PCT : 79.2
20+ : 14
40+ : 3
That is a great start to the season.
He is 5th in Passing yards.
He is 1st in Touchdowns
He is 1st in completion percentage.
He is 1st in QB Rating.
So he ranks in the top 5 in every major category. He ranks 1st in 3 of them. He is just having a sensational season so far.
The MVP is for the most valuable player as you know. Most MVPs are on a very good team like a playoff team and Tom Brady is on a very good team. So this makes him the perfect candidate for MVP.
Also the MVP a lot of times goes to a QB for some reason. They are one of the most important if not the most important player on the team. Voters tend to vote for QBs for the MVP a lot. That is another good reason why Tom Brady is your MVP.
Tom Brady is a great leader of his team. The QB of the ( Patriots ) best team ( most people think so ) in the NFL gets a lot of votes.

Brady's great. But I have to go with the guy who just broke the all time TD record (422 & counting). #4 in your programs, #1 in our hearts, Mr. Brett Favre.
Favre is leading Brady in Yds. with 1,215, and Yds. per game w/ 301.2, second only to pass happy Kitna.
What the stats won't tell you is that Favre is carrying the team on his back. Favre's supporting cast is Driver who's great but not a burner, Jennings who's young, and learning the game, not to mention Favre has little run support.
On the other hand, Brady has Moss, Welker, and Stallworth, with run support from Maroney.
Brady's great. But Favre is still going strong, and doing more with less.
Favre is the GB Packers heart & soul. He has made a more impressive run for a 4-0 team with a very young and green team.
BTW...I detest MVP TD's when we have only 4 games to go on. LOL

Lets take a look at the comparison between Favre and Brady
Yards : Favre
TD : Brady
QB Rating : Brady
Completion PCT : Brady
20+ : Brady
40+ : Tie
AVG : Brady
As you see Brady has better numbers than Favre in every category except for Yards.
The reason why Favre has more yards is because Favre has attempted 50 more passes than Brady. In 50 passes Brady would have easily have passed for 100 more yards. Brady averages 9.3 yards per pass so he would have a lot more passing yards.
Donald Driver is a good receiver. Look at his stats.
Catches : 27
Yards : 323
TD : 2
They are alright numbers. Last season he was the #5 WR in the league, but i lot of people did not know that because he does not get the respect that he should.
Besides Moss Brady does not really have some one to throw to.
You said that Brett Favre has to carry his team on his back. Well did you ever hear of DEFENSE. Their defense is a major reason why the Packers are 4-0 right now. So Favre does not carry his whole team on his back.
You said that Favre is doing more. Well there is no way he is doing more, just look at the comparison up there that will show you who is doing more.BRADY

-I certainly have heard of Defense. You mention that GB is undefeated because of their D.
-GB's Defense? 19th in yds./game with 338.5 and 9th in pts. allowed w/ 66.
-NE's Defense is 1st in yds./G with 223, 5th in pts. allowed with 48.
-Driver is 9th with 323 yds. and 2 TD's. He has 4 20 yd.+ recs. and 1 40+ rec. Not bad, but not a burner either.
-Moss is 1st with 505 yds. and 7 TD's. He has 8 20 yd.+ recs. and 3 40+ rec. That's league leading!
-Brady also has Welker who has 23 recs. for 243 yds., and don't forget about NE's speedy #3 Stallworth who is forgotten in all the Moss hubub.
-Brady has the luxury of run support from Maroney & Morris w/ 520 yds.
-Favre has Jackson and Wynn who have 184 combined yds.
-So again, Favre has led his team to a 4-0 start despite having a young supporting cast and almost NO run support.
-If less is more, then Favre is our MVP for the first quarter of the season.

The running backs don't have many yards because Favre throws the ball so much. They do not run that much at all.
When you said that Favre carries his team, i wasn't saying that the Patriots defense was worse than the packers i was saying that the packers defense is good and that they have helped on their 4-0 start.
Most valuable player also usually goes to the best team in the NFL and i belive that the Patriots are a better team than the Packers. I can say this by the way the Patriots are playing right now.
You are saying that Favre does more now. How does Favre do more than Brady. Did you look at the comparison in the lasr argument, Brady wins every category. So stopping saying he does more with less because he might have less but Brady still does more for his team byt looking at the comparison.
Tom Brady gets better as the game goes by.
1st Half Stats
PCT : 73.6
ATT : 72
Yards : 571
Rating : 122.3
TD : 8
2nd Half Stats
PCT : 87.5
ATT : 48
Yards : 541
Rating : 148.4
TD : 5
He has more touchdowns in the 1st because he has attmepted a lot more passes than in the 2nd half.
He does good under pressure.

MVP means the Most Valuable Player to his team. Not the best stats. Not necessarily even the best team. Just the Most Valuable Player to his team.
This is why I emphasize supporting cast. Favre is forced to pass more because his RB's have horrible production, not the other way around.
Can anyone tell me (beyond GB fans) they knew Jackson and Wynn were the Pack's top rushing producers? Doubtful.
When I say "less is more" I am referring to Favre taking his team to the same 4-0 record that the Patriots, Colts and Cowboys have.
Favre is having a historic season and leading his team to a possible NFC North division championship.
You can keep Brady's statistics. Give me Favre, who can take a young and inexperienced team to 4-0 and perhaps greater through his determination, strong arm, and pure joy for the game.

Report Offensive CommentMVP isn't just a pure stats award it is who is MORE valuable to his team. NE has many weapons and a superbowl defense. Greenbay wasn't even talked about before the season and now they are 4-0. Farve is more impt to his team than even Brady is to his

Report Offensive CommentFavre's stats aren't as good as Brady's but he means more to his team than anyone else in the NFL. The Packers would be 0-4 not 4-0 without Favre. A lot of QBs would succeed in on the Patriots.

Report Offensive CommentBrady will win the MVP and hopefully then be given the respect he deserves. the mvp will be the knockout punch in the manning is the best qb arguement, brady is better.
and i respect favre but he won't win the mvp at his age, he will cool down on throwing when it becomes cold in Green Bay. and his stats will be shot after chicago destroys him this weekend. Go Bears!
