In what should be a great series, the Cleveland Indians will win and advance to the World Series and here's why. The Indians have starting pitching, CC, Fausto, and Byrd with a strong outing are going to be tough to beat for any team along with one of the league's best bullpen's Also, 2 out hitting, the Indians scored a majority of their runs with 2 outs, patience at the plate, speed, and power will send the Indians to the 2007 World Series

I agree that this will be a great series, but there are a couple of things that bothered me. First off, Borowski continued his mediocure play of baseball, which is unacceptable in the playoffs. Second, and more importantly, the Indians went a trechorous 1-15 or so with RISP in the second game against the Yankees. No doubt the Indians played better than the Yankees, but its going to be hard to play better than the Red Sox. They have a solid lineup, with a solid pitching staff and great bullpen. The Red Sox are also full of postseason experience, whereas the Indians only have Kenny Lofton with a lot of playoff experience. The Indians do have a good 1-2 punch, but I personally dont trust Paul Byrd. The Sox have better pitching, hands down, whereas the lineup is a tossup depending on the night.

I disagree. I think the Sox rotation, but I would give the advantage to Cleveland. CC/Beckett I give a slight edge to CC, Fausto/DiceK I give the advantage to Fausto, and Jake/Schilling I give to Schilling.

Like the Indians showed in the ALDS talent beats expirence every series so you can discount Boston's playoff expirence, it just dosen't matter. I belive the Indians big bats can match up with Boston and propell the Tribe in to the WS.

I think your giving a slight edge to CC over Becket because your an Indians fan. Coming from a nuetral fan (Astros), I'll give them a tie. The edge certainly goes to the Sox bullpen, and Borowski did lead the league in saves, but he was also up there with his 5+ ERA. He lead the league in saves not because of talent, but because of opportunities--not to count all the blown save opps he had. Playoff experience does matter, just not when you are an old, staggering team with little pitching (Yankees). The Red Sox are a different breed of experiece. They are just as young as the Indians, yet they have been there before. The Yankees had experience because of age, which means some of their players were out of their prime. But the Red Sox have experienced players while still in their prime, not to mention they have arguably the most clutch hitter in the game in Ortiz (exeption to Jeter over the past decade).

CC has better numbers than Beckett, and if he would have had the run support Beckett got, he would have won 26 games. Thats why I give the edge to CC. You must be basing the sox bullpen superiority only looking at closers. Because we have an oustanding bullpen, you've probably never heard of the Rafy's, Perez and Betancourt. These guys are nasty and do nothing but come in and shut people down.If you wanna talk about clutch, Victor Martinez has been unbelieveable in the clutch this year.

I have heard of those relievers, however, I would take pitchers like Okajima and Buchholz over them, especially Okajima. Big Papi and Manny especailly have performed amazing in the postseason this year along with their careers, and Manny is tied for the all time leader in post season homeruns. Big Papi happens to be on a tear hitting over .700, and Manny is hitting near .400. I also have not brought up Curt Schillings stellar postseason numbers. The man has an ERA sub 2.85 career in the championship series, as he has handled teams with lineups much more potent than that of this years Indians. The Bo Sox also have home field advantage, and you came only imagine playing in that type of pressure. No matter how you compare it, the intensity between Jacobs field and Fenway park are no way on the same level. The Red Sox have the depth, especially in pitching, to win this series.

LOL at B0mb3rs. Of all people to say such a thing. Just how sick do you think the rest of baseball is of seeing your Yanks in the playoffs every stinking year! LOL You are still ok for a Yank fan though I guess!

JKess, You give the nod to the Indians for having two great starters and a good bullpen and those two things are true however, The Sox have a good rotation and a bull pen as well.

What the Sox have that the Indians don't have:
1. A lights-out closer. You tell me, Pap or Borowski?
2. Homefield advantage. Fenway is a tough place to play and those rabid fans are right on top of you.
3. The Big Papi, Manny, Lowell trio! One of them is going to bite you.
4. Experience.

1. Boroski is shaky yes, but there is a reason he led the league in saves.
2. Our home field advantage is pretty intense too, we sold out 455 straight games and our fans our starving for a championship. Also, we have bugs :)
3. Grady, Pronk, Vic, Garko and dark horse kenny... one of them will bite you.
4. NY had more playoff expirence then us too...

it all comes down to beckett vs sabathia...if the sox win the tribe will get owned...if CC wins then its going to be a very interesting...vote goes to the sox cause of their experience

1. So you are saying that you would take Boroski over Papelbon? If you are you might be the only one. I would venture to say even the Indians wouldn't say that if you asked them in private.
2.YOU DON"T HAVE HOMEFIELD ADVANTAGE! The term means that you will be playing 4 games out of 7 in Boston!
3. and which of those guys is a match for either Papi or Manny?
4. Only 4 players remain on the Yankees from their glory years, the Sox have far more "rings" on their roster.

October 9, 2007  09:37 PM ET

1. Never said that.
2. Never said we did.
3. All of them.
4. 26 rings
