I have to say the Detroit Tigers
Granderson
Ordonez
SHeffifeild

Okay, first off, Scheffield is not an outfielder anymore. He is strictly DH, and when he does play the field, its 1B. I don???t expect to win this because of the names in the Tigers outfield, but hear me out. Im choosing the Colorado Rockies, and check out the Comparions from a cumulative standpoint:
Rockies: Holliday, Taveras, Hawpe
Tigers: Thames, Granderson, Ordonez

Batting AVG- Tigers: .302///Rockies .317
HR- Tigers- 69///Rockies- 67
RBI- Tigers-267///Rockies- 277
SB- Tigers- 32///Rockies- 44
R- Tigers- 276///Rockes- 264

so its about a tie and sheffield played outfeilfer and usally named as a outfeilder and most fanstay league. SO if i swich Thamas with Sheiffield my stats are alot better.

Being listed on a fantasy league does not mean that is his position. What I am saying is that Scheffield started only 14 games in the outlied in 2007, versus staring 119 as a DH. Troy Glaus is also listed as a SS in some leagues, because he played ONE game at SS. Being listed on a fantasy league is saying you CAN play that position, that doesnt mean you DO play that position. What I am argueing is that if you consider Sceff as a DH, which he truly is, the Rockies have a more well rounded outfield.

I say he should be counted as an outfeilder he has played almost all his carrer so i think he is an outfeilder making my team better.

A-rod has played SS for most of his career, yet he switched to 3B. Soriano played most of his career as a 2b, and hes now an outfielder. Positions change. Can Scheff still play outfield? Probably. DOES HE STILL PLAY OUTFIELD? NO. You never stated that this throwdown was based on an entire career, which is what your now changing it to, for one of your outfielders. The fact is, Scheff is no longer an outfielder, he is too injury rittled. And because of that one fact, the Rockies have a better outfield.

I would agree with you AWC, however he has played Outfielder this year. He did very well at it for the time he has played it. I think he is still considered and outfielder. What if Barry Bonds switched to DH for someone, would he not be known as a Outfielder after than? Or Vlad Gurrero, he wouldn't be an Outfielder anymore if he switched to DH for a while? Gary Sheffield may play more Outfileder next year when Thames needs a break, because Ryan Raburn is the Tigers Utility Man along with Omar INfante. So Sheffield will be the back-up in the Outfielder. Therefore, he is still counted as an Outfielder.

My top 5 OFers in all of baseball:
Ordonez
Vlad
Ichiro
Holliday
Granderson

The Rockies only have 1 even in the top 20, IMO.

But, vtfan didn't even make a flippin argument, so ****?

what do you wanna argue?

Doesnt matter, you can pick the topic.

Sheffield is a DH. He is no more an outfielder than Frank Thomas or Jim Thome are 1st basemen. They USED to be position players, and occasionally still do during inter league play, but they aren't NOW.

You can't be a part of "best outfield" if you don't PLAY OF more than a hand full of times.
