Well, while I would like to say the Rockies will win it, it's gotta be the Redsox. Here's why.

1.) Yes the Rockies have momentum, but after watching these last couple days of the Redsox dominating the late innings, I think it is safe to say the momentum is equaled out.....winning 3 in a row against CC, Fausto, and Westbrook, I don't think there is a pitcher on the Rockies who can stop this offense. And it's not the big names either, the heros have been JD Drew game 6 and Pedroia game 7...........

2.) Josh Beckett............the way this guy is goin, there isnt an offense in the world who can stop him. Plus, he won the World Series in '03 with Florida, so he's been here before

3.) Jonathan Paplebon........Man just look at his face, you can't compete with that staredown

and 4.) It's gotta be homefield advantage. Boston has some of the most loyal fans in the US, this I think will be a key factor and why Boston will win at least 3 of 4 at home if it goes that far.

Ok, I'll let you go before I keep goin

I think it's gotta be the Rockies. There isn't a single team that can stop them right now.
1) The late inning have also been rather good for the Rockies, who didn't play such a shabby D-Backs pitching corps. And the heroes have also come out of nowhere, with Torrealba, Matsui, and Taveras all being big contributors.
2) Josh Beckett may be unstoppable, but no one else in this rotation is unstoppable. The Rockies hitting is good enough that they can even get stuff on Beckett.
3) Once again, this offense is so good that Papelbon may do less.
4)Homefield advantage is good, but I still think it's Rockies in 7.

While I agree it will be close, there is no doubting the Redsox lineup. Yes they have been strong in late innings, but the Redsox have scored runs in the early innings to give there bullpen room to work with.

1.) Look at the infields. Garret Atkins, Troy Tulowitzki, and Todd Helton have a combined 4 rbi's this postseason. Plus they are all batting .185 or less

Kevin Youkillis is batting .425 this postseason along with Pedrioa who has found a recent hot streak getting 5 RBI's in last nights game 7. Mike Lowell as well has 11 rbis this postseason.

2.) Although Holliday has had some key hits, his average is down to .286 in the postseason. Same with Willy Taveras, who has hit .167 this postseason. JD Drew hit a grand slam in the first inning game 6 and finished with five RBI. Coco Crisp was batting .161 and was eventually replaced by Jacoby Ellsbury, who went 1-for-5 and drove in a run in Game 6. Manny Ramirez is red hot, batting .400, stifling concerns about his oblique injury.

With Boston's high-flying hitting, I dont think Colordo's small ball will win this series.

I can't argue. You've argued your case too well.

Josh Becket has been, obviously, spectacular this postseason. He has alot of stats, but it comes down to his 1.17 ERA. Curt has pitched 2 very good games and one average game. But he came thru in the clutch in game 6 to help Boston win. Dice-K looks as if his postseason jitters are gone with the game 7 he had. Besides Jeff Francis, I don't see Colorado having any chance with their other guys against this great Boston lineup. It doesn't help either that Francis will be going against Josh Beckett......death sentence right there....The bullpens are favoring Boston as well. With Papelbon and Okajima, Colorado can't expect to do much of anything angainst these guys. Colorado has done very nicely so far getting out of jams, but you cant expect Boston to do the same things the Dbacks or Phillies did to kill innings, Bostons lineup is to solid all around to make the mistakes these other teams did.

Overall, Boston is too deep in pitching and too solid in hitting to lose to Colorado 4 times in 7 tries.......That being said....

Boston takes it in 6 closely fought games

Rockies in 7?

IF it goes 7, it means it was a very even, hard fought series and there is just no way the Sox will lose it at home.

Can ortiz play in the field. I like the Rockies because of their outstanding fielding and the line up is just as solid through the order.

dammit! i didnt no game 7 was in boston. Dammit!

This is my first WS on FN..

is there always this many WS TDs around this time?

Oh yes. Home field advantage. It played a HUGE part in the Sox beating the Indians and will be the same in the World Series.

Gagne blew, what, 3 games for the Sox at the end of the season and the Sox and Indians ended up with the same record, with the Sox taking the tie breaker. If the Indians had managed to get home field for the playoffs, I think they'd still be playing right now.

sox in 6, possibly 5 i havent looked at the rotation yet but based on the location, momentum, and the way that the little sox (pedroia drew youkillis etc) stepped up. if papi goes 0-5 and the red sox still win 11-2, outscoring the AMAZING cleveland indians 39-5 in the last three games (yeas it happened) there is no way way the sox will lose if nothing changes.

October 22, 2007  10:04 PM ET

red sox is 5. no questions asked. compare the starting pitching. can jeff francis even compare with beckett? i dont think so.
