i think the world series MVP will be Dustin Pedroia. Its a tough 1 but i see pedroia taking home the hardware.

The series isn't over yet (HA LOL), but should go to Ellsbury. If it goes another game and Beckett starts Game 5 and wins, he should be the MVP.

well if da series ends 2nite i think pedroia has had a magnificient series he leads da team in hits,Total bases he leads da team in RBI's and he is batting 357 in da series while playing spectacular defense.

It will be too bad if it didn't go into a Game 5. Beckett has had an excellent postseason and started Game 1 (7 IP 1 R 6 H 9 K) and shouldn't really get penalized for that (4-0 in the postseason). Ellsbury has a ,417 batting average, 3 Doubles (always important to get in scoring position) , 3 Run scored and a SB.

true beckett shouldnt b penalized but pedroia has been a factor from his 1st at bat in da world series wit a HR he has had great games and played great defense plus he has been setting da tone out of da leadoff spot with da exception of last night but ellsbury has been great 2 but i believe pedroia has had a bigger effect on da series and it is also impressive cuz he is a rookie doing it 2.

Pedroia isn't a rookie, he played in 31 games last year, Ellsbury is the rookie doing the job they brought him in to do.

I hope that the Rockies win tonight so that Beckett can pitch the winning game tomorrow night and become the MVP, if not I'll be pulling for Ellsbury (and Beckett) to win.

October 28, 2007  02:36 PM ET

uhoh.. 6-0

October 28, 2007  02:42 PM ET

Detroit, about time I took one away from you.

October 28, 2007  02:44 PM ET

i agree with jonesy in every way.

But, MVP should go to hitting coach.....whatever his name is

October 28, 2007  02:45 PM ET

Lol @ Jonesy.

October 28, 2007  02:51 PM ET

i hate the Red Sox but Jacoby Ellsbury makes me feel funny in certain places...

October 28, 2007  02:53 PM ET

Ellsbury owes it all to the hitting coach. Same with Peds, Ortiz, Youk, Lowell. the list goes on

October 28, 2007  03:09 PM ET

Lowell just benefits from having such a great lineup ahead of him.

Umm, if Pedroia isn't a rookie, why is he the runaway favorite for rookie of the year?

October 28, 2007  03:18 PM ET

Why can't people use complete sentences with a capital letter and puncuation? Also, why can't people actually type out all the letters of a word instead of saying b for be and 2nite for tonight and da for the and wit for with. Why can't you just write out the word?? What, is it going to take an extra second to just write out the entire word??

October 28, 2007  03:23 PM ET

agreed dyhard

October 28, 2007  03:39 PM ET

can you please stop saying da. It's the. not hard, not a long one at all. But please, for the sake of man, stop saying da.

October 28, 2007  03:43 PM ET

no vote for either of you. One guy is saying da and wit repeatedly, and the other said Pedroia isn't a rookie.

If a player doesn't get 180 AB's in a season it isn't considered a full year in the league. Therefore, Ellsbury isn't even a rookie. His rookie year is next year. So you are wrong on both parts of that statement. Pedroia is a rookie, and Ellsbury will enjoy his rookie year, technically, next year.

October 28, 2007  05:40 PM ET

It would be funny to see Ellsbury win the MVP of the series the year BEFORE he wins rookie of the year.

October 28, 2007  08:05 PM ET

As said on the players team page, it has Pedroia for years exp, it has 2 (so you can win rookie of the year in your sophmore year)? And Ellsbury it says for experience 1 (which I came to understand was a Rookie everywhere else). But I take it 2 means 1 and 1 means its not even him playing, some other guy did his job for a season

Ellsbury was a late season call up. This is Pedroia's first official season, and he is a lock for Rookie of the Year. This year.
