The Eagles will take the Lions spot in the wildcard soon, and the Lions won't make the playoffs.

The Lions have such a hard schedule coming up it's not even funny: Giants, Green Bay, Minnesota, Dallas, San Diego, Kansas City and Green Bay again. If they lose today and next week, win against Minnesota, lose to Dallas and San Diego, and win against Kansas City and lose to Green Bay they'll finish 8-8.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have a fairly easy schedule except for the games against New England, Dallas and the Giants.

If the Eagles win today's game against the Dolphins, lose to New England, win 2 straight against Seattle and the Giants, lose to Dallas and win 2 more games against New Orleans and Buffalo they will finish 9-7.

Keep in mind that the Eagles won against the Lions earlier this season.

A couple other points are that Jon Kitna has been sacked 37 times already, and is on pace to get sacked 65 times this season! He's already had a concussion this season and I don't think he can last the season if he keeps on getting sacked at this rate. Him and Calvin Johnson are both getting bothered by back injuries.

P.S. The Eagles are beating Miami 10-7 while the Lions are losing to the Giants 10-3.

Yeah, one thing??? You say the Eagles have a pretty hard schedule left, except for the Giants, Cowboys, and Patriots??? well, I hate to break it to you, but the Eagles are 4-5 right now. They won???t win any of those games, meaning they will go 8-8 at best. Now, with the Eagle???s inconsistency, I think they???ll drop another one in there as well. I mean, come on, they have a QB controversy going (McNabb was benched), they???ve been picked off 3 times by the Dolphins???
That being said, the Lions aren???t great. I see them going 8-8 (still better than 7-9 or 6-10 that I see for the Eagles), but still making the playoffs. In a weak NFC, they???ll grab the 6th seed, behind the Giants.

What school do they teach you to use three question marks instead of apostrophes?

Basically, the Giants will have one of the wildcard spots locked up when they beat the Lions today. The other spot is going to be up for grabs between a couple teams, and the Eagles are the frontrunner for that spot. If they finish 8-8 (they have a good chance) and if the Lions finish 8-8 as you say, the Eagles will get the spot because they one the season series.

Probably the most consistent part of the Eagles offense is the running game. They have a stud in Brian Westbrook and one of the most underrated backup running backs in Correll Buckhalter.

Also, get your facts straight. The Eagles didn't bench McNabb, he had a minor ankle injury. AJ Feeley did an O.K. job filling in.

The Eagles look poised for a long string of wins like last season to make the playoffs.

P.S. The Eagles won 17-7 and Lions lost 16-10.

The question marks came from typing my argument in Word and then pasting it over... Had to pretend I was doing homework LOL...

Anyway.

I think we both agree the Giants have locked up the 5th seed (1st wildcard) which brings us to the 6th seed we are arguing about.

OK, so I don't see why the Eagles are gonna finish 8-8. They are 5-5 right now. They WILL lose to New England, Dallas, and New York (the Giants). That would give them 8 losses, and a need for 3 wins to hit 8-8.

They also have games against Buffalo and Seattle. Seattle has one thing that will help them beat the Eagles- a PASS RUSH. The Eagles have struggled all year against a variety of teams, but one consistent factor has been the other team's pass rush. Seattle has a good one. And Buffalo, they ain't exactly scrubs either. They are 5-5 (same as Eagles), and two of their losses have come against the Patriots. They are actually a better team than the Eagles.

Throw in the Eagles having to play a backup QB, who, by the way, did NOT play well, and the season is gonna drag on for the Iggles.

Seriously, tell me that they can win 2 games out of NE, DAL, SEA, NYG, and BUF. All are superior teams, and will make the Iggles 7-9

First, you can never say WILL in any sport.

Second, they will have a shot at the Giants whose #1 option at wide reciever is out (Plaxico Burress.) that would give them a chance ,if they lose to Dallas and New England, to go 9-7. Seattle is a depleted team whose Rush D is decent. Decent means Westbrook could easily run on them for 120 yards.

The Eagles are more balanced than people might think. They have a decent recieving core and a great backfield if they need to rely on their backfield for the next couple games its okay because they have a dominating back field.

Plus, Donovan McNabb isn'r out for long - he's day-to-day

Yea, I'll seriously tell you they can win 2 games against those team, I'll even go out on a limb and say 3 games.

"and by the end of the weekend, tied for 3rd in the division...keep movin' on up birds..."

Lol. I guess TIED for last place is better than being in last place all by themselves. ;-)

Actually, the Iggles aren't gonna be helped by the Lions losing. That is because they lost to the Giants, meaning while the Lions get setback in the hunt for the 1st wildcard slot, it pushes the Giants ahead. Therefore, the Giants are basically shutting the Iggles off from the first slot, meaning they'll HAVE to win the second slot to make the playoffs. And to do that, they'll have to beat out teams like the Lions who have better records.

Dudeman, when you type the argument outside of the argument box and then paste it in, it automatically puts in 3 question marks instead of the apostrophe. Who knows why...
