Who should the Ravens draftin the first of the upcoming NFL Draft saying they get the 8th overall draft pick?

I think the Ravens should take a QB in the first round of the upcoming NFL Draft, Matt Ryan, or maybe even Dennis Dixon. Dixon is 4th in the nation in passing efficiency(Even though he is hurt think of what those stats could be if he wasnt).Ryan is 4th in the nation in passing yard per game. Sure they could start Troy Smith next year, but what is he gets hurt, or just cant preform well enough, and Kyle Boller just aint that good, yes he did do ok against the Pat's but i dont see him being the starter in Baltimore in the years to come... Dixon or Ryan could step right into the role of starting QB in Baltimore. I say take Dixon or Ryan in the first round.

OK... first off, before I get to my real arguments, let me just laugh at you for a few moments for suggesting the Ravens draft DENIS DIXON with the 8th overall pick in the draft. Clearly, you have not been alive for more than 5 years, or you haven't realized that Dixon will probably be a late second round pick at best. Still, you deserve to be laughed at. And so:

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK. Anyway, I would agree with you they need a QB. Well, I would have a few weeks ago. Then Troy Smith came in. When he played the Colts, I was the first to say he wouldn't last. Too short. But then he did decently on a few series against the Dolphins.

I think Troy can do something. He came into the season as a 3rd stringer. He didn't even know if he'd make the team. But when he comes in, something special happens. His teammates seem to get a little bit more excited. We know he is a winner and a talented guy. Plus, he hasn't done any better or worse than a typical rookie in his limited action. Give him a chance next year.

I say, trade back a few spots, cause they need some extra picks, and draft Aqib Talib or Malcom Jenkins. They NEED a cornerback.

Alright my bad on saying Dennis Dixon with the 8th pick, guess I didnt really think it through. At CB they have McAlister and Samuri Rolle, they both aint that bad. Sure Rolle is not a house-hold cornerback name, but that doesnt mean he cant preform. I think they are OK at cornerback maybe they could pick one in the 2nd round. Matt Ryan like I said could step in as a starter, also possible Colt Brenen(I'm not saying take him with the 8th pick). Matt Ryan has shown time after time that he does have NFL abilties. In every game he played in this year he threw at least 1 TD pass. Sure VT was proly the best team they played this year but still. He has thrown for over 400 yards in 3 games. Also 3 games of over 300+ yards(not including the 400+ yard games). Thats not that bad. I still say take Matt Ryan(Not Dennis Dixon.)

Uh, yeah, they are pretty thin at cornerback.

Rolle is TERRIBLE. He used to be excellent, but he has dropped off significantly. Because of his injury, I haven't seen a lot of him this year. But according to Pro Football prospectus, last year he was worse than every other starting corner back and several backups in Success Rate (how frequently you are targeted, beaten, miss tackles, allow 3rd down conversions, etc.)

Rolle is also getting old, and having health problems. Chris McAlister is into his 30s and has also struggled with injuries this year. And, as we've seen this year, the Ravens backups at cornerback are AWFUL. Not just bad, they are terrible. So they've got a lockdown corner, and then they have an aging corner in Rolle who will likely be released, and a bunch of backups who should stay backups.

The Ravens NEED a cornerback to pair with McAlister.

Trade the pick and get extra selections; the Ravens need help everywhere. Dixon's one of those 'spread option' guys and will have to adjust his game to make it in the NFL, as will WVU's White. Tebow, on the other hand, could start just about anywhere right now. As for Ryan, a lot of people have him confused with Doug Flutie, but he may make someone a decent backup in the NFL.

I'd take Antoine Cason, a cornerback out of Arizona. If that defense can get McAlister back from injury and they can get a good cornerback across from McAlister, like Cason, that could be a lethal defense. All of a sudden, that secondary goes from one of the worst in football to one of the best.
