Walk the streets like Kimbo Slice

Rumor has it that Kimbo Slice may have his own line of Nike Air Force One Sneakers coming out. Based on the pictures that I've come across, it's most likely a rumor. Someone probably created these sneakers themselves or with Nike ID. But regardless, it's a cool concept.

It's Not!

Hope not, geez. Besides, I don't believe that Nike would want to have its image connected, in any way, to a brawler like Kimbo.

Yea, you say that like Nike has never embraced a controversial figure willingly. If anything Nike could greatly benefit from aligning themselves with him.

Report Offensive Comment

I would tend to agree with MMAKid. Nike would get a lot of advertising and the gansta wannabes buying these sneakers. I would be a bit surprised, but not completely. I see a much bigger upside for Nike, than any downside.

Report Offensive Comment

With all the MMA fighters Nike could align themselves with, Kimbo is top 10 of the worst.
First of all, he isn't a good fighter. He'll get clocked the first time he faces an average to good opponent.
Secondly, his image is terrible.
Yes, Nike has embraced controversial figures, but they're always good athletes, not a mediocre fighter such as Kimbo.

Report Offensive Comment

Hyped, I agree that this isn't a good choice for them to pick, but right now Kimbo is getting much more press than most of the known fighters and the fact that he is headlining an event on CBS at the end of the month will give Nike a lot of press. His image is terrible depending on where you live and your socio economic position. There are a lot of folks that love this guy simply because of his Youtube fights. I think when he fights any MMA fighter today that is a top fighter he will get his lunch handed to him, becasue he will get taken down and put on his back and pounded since no one has seen him fight on the ground. He has fought a bunch of nobody's up to this point and an old Tank Abbott.

lets see, sneakers with a steel toe, a razor blade compartment inside the rubber sole, razor sharp laces that can be quickly removed so that you could strangle your opponent with, buy 2 pair at get an ankle strap gun holster free( gun not included ), yeah, i really think they got something here!

Disgusting...This news bring society one step closer to utter collapse.

I am just waiting for him to beat someone with credibility....

All of you guys on here talking bad about slice are probably the same people who thought Chuck Liddell would be Rampage Jackson. Chuck the golden boy had his lunch handed to him. Very QUICK I might add

Report Offensive Comment

KeeLee, actually I figured Quentin would beat Liddel. SAy what you will about chuck, but he has beat some of the best fighters in the world. Who has Kimbo beaten? A washed up boxer, a guy who was obviously scared of him and dropped the first time he was hit, and a washed up old Tamk Abbot who hasn't had a win in years. I will say that he is improving and taking MMA seriously or Bas Ruttan wouldn't be training him, but any of the top tier fighters would destroy him at this point. Even the guy he is fighting in the next event is at best an average fighter. I predict Slice will win his next fight as well, but still not against a quality opponent.

Keelee24: Rampage had beaten Chuck Lidell before, in Pride FC. So it wasn't a big surprise, he had done it before.

Report Offensive Comment

Jason70: I see your point. On the other hand, I do believe this news is false, or just a rumour.

Report Offensive Comment

I agree with you Jason 70- Like a new boxer I think they are bringing Kimbo along slowly. He is not ready for the top tier yet but if he keeps training and taking it serious he will be ready for the top tier soon. Although Rampage had beaten Lidell before he was still an underdog in that fight and not picked to win. Once Kimbo has a solid ground attack I think he will be a formidable opponent for anybody.

"Although Rampage had beaten Lidell before he was still an underdog in that fight and not picked to win"

Only by people who only watch the UFC and not MMA in general. Rampage had DESTROYED Lidell in their first fight.

Report Offensive Comment

I don't think Slice is there yet to warrant his own sneaks, LOL. He'll be like Shaq, unable to get people to buy sports shoes just because it's his signature shoes...besides MMA fighters don't wear shoes when they compete so it's a moot point. I don't ever see it happening.

Report Offensive Comment

Hyped, I don't really believe this rumor either, but it wouldn't completely shock me.

Report Offensive Comment

this guy is way to overhyped.he still hasn't done anything.WHO HAS HE FOUGHT? NOW THERE TALKING ABOUT SNEAKERS FOR HIM.THE BIGGEST THING HE HAS DONE WAS FIGHT IN A BACK YARD

Report Offensive Comment

exactly..

Report Offensive Comment

to those who say kimbo is overhyped, think about it from a biz perspective, if your biggest draw was a 30 year old with on 3 fights, 2 professional but he gets millions of ppl watching him across the world, you wouldnt put him in the main event? i mean really think intelligently for a second, he is the biggest star in mma period, theres no debating that no matter how hard you try, thats a fact, and plus wat rhymeister saying mma fighters dont wear shoes when they fight, think about it like this rappers have sneakers that have sold more than real basketball players, so i doubt whether he wears sneakers when he fights is gonna have anything to do with sales.
