Nittany Lions land two-way star

Penn State landed its sixth recruit for the Class of 2009 when Derrick Thomas, a cornerback and wide receiver, committed to the Nittany Lions on Sunday. Thomas was a two-way star at Eleanor Roosevelt High last season. A classmate, cornerback Stephon Morris, is also mulling a scholarship offer from Penn State.

Great news for PSU. I hope PSU can get back to it's old winning ways before Notre Dame does.

The Warden, please stop it. I find myself agreeing with you again.

Good news and I think we're going to have a good year in '08.

Both of you guys need to read the papers. PSU has been. what, 9-4 the last 2 seasons with bowl wins against teams that were or had been ranked (Texas A&M had been ranked and had just beat a very good Texas team [No.5]); and the year before that a #3 ranking and co-Big 10 championship?? I don't see the need to "get back to . . . winning ways" with a record like that.

Here's proof Joe Pa can still recruit. No I'm not a PSU-er, just a football fan. The program and the man deserve more respect than most Nation readers want to give.

Ok...ya got a kid that "goes both ways" from Eleanore Roosevelt High? Next thing ya know, JoePa will sign a kid named Andrew Warhol.

What's the matter with you man???

No matter what the story on this site is, you guys still manage to work Notre Dame into it. Why so obsessed...?

The Truth...If "it's perpetual hatred for a relic" why isn't Hillary Clinton part of the discussion...?

Gariboy, thats funny

I suspect the Michigan fans on this blog need to get everything out of their system before the next season starts. After it begins, they'll be lying low.

There is a duality that exists in most college football fans. First, there is the undying love for your favorite team. Next is an emotion that is so intense it almost overshadows the first...and that emotion is a pure unmitigated HATRED of Notre Dame. Why? Well, that's just the natural order of things.

eyesWIDEopen...I will accept your explanation for lack of having heard a better one but if that is the case, why does ND keep getting so much exposure especially since they haven't been a national championship contenter in almost 20 years? Why are they still a "media darling" and why do even their mediocre teams get invited to bowl games that are "over their heads?" Enlighten me (so my eyes are also wide open).

PS: Sorry PSU fans. This probably isn't the right forum for this discussion.

I am not a relic, yet!

Gari-Notre Dame is brought into everything. Every thread under college T&R ends up having ND brought back into it.

"Ryan Torain tears his ACL"

~I bet Charlie tried to eat it!
~~That's so funny and not overused at all
~~~They are a Catholic school!
That's about how every T&R in this section goes.
ND is a lovem or hatem team. But how many colleges can go on the road to a neutral site and sell out 80,000 tickets? Say what we will, but no matter where they go they sell out!
The reason Notre Dame gets invited to bowl games is because people will watch either as fans or as haters (hoping they get their butts kicked) Plus tv contracts with NBC put them on tv every week
