Coaches meet with Cowboys safety

Posted: Thursday May 15, 2008 06:11AM ET

Cowboys safety Roy Williams has become a lightning rod recently, with his comments on how he fits into coach Wade Phillips' defense, followed by linebacker Greg Ellis' thoughts, fueling speculation that the Pro Bowler had fallen out of favor at Valley Ranch. The situation prompted defensive coordinator Brian Stewart and safeties coach Brett Maxie to sit down privately with Williams. Wednesday, at the Cowboys' annual golf outing, Stewart said he was satisfied with the meeting's results. Stewart said he doesn't consider confidence an issue, even after Williams said on the Michael Irvin Show "sometimes you just hope they don't throw the ball your way." Stewart also said he's happy with the safety's participation in the team's off-season program after Ellis said last week Williams had isolated himself from teammates in those workouts.

It's Not!

Roy hasn't been earning his money, plan and simple. I like the guy, but hes needs to start playing at the level he did when he was drafted, or Jones should find someone that can cover.

I think he will return to form. Losing 32 pounds and having Campo around won't hurt either. I'm just pissed that he's changing numbers (38), I've got 3 of his jersey's dammit!

He better show up this year

HA!

Report Offensive Comment

no but it looks like its from korea.....................trash

Report Offensive Comment

We had jackets made in Korea that came out really nice. I realize that's not the same for everyone though.

Report Offensive Comment

If he lost 32lbs, then that might show some commitment to getting back to form as a safety and not a Parcellsified linebacker in the defensive backfield.

Report Offensive Comment

It would be nice to see the front of his jersey occasionally. I have become way to familiar with the back of his jersey as I watch him chase some other team's player into the end zone.

RW31 is overrated..
