Experts: Mets put Church in danger

Experts in the field of concussion management said the Mets have put Ryan Church at significant medical risk by having him play through dizziness, lethargy and headaches. Church sustained what the team called a mild concussion on May 20 against the Braves. While sliding into second base, his head slammed into the knee of an opponent and then fell hard onto the dirt. He missed the next game, but volunteered to pinch-hit four times since. Several experts in sports-related concussions, however, said that Church -- who has told reporters that he has had a headache and has felt dizzy and tired almost every day since his injury -- should not have been allowed to play at all because his symptoms had not cleared.

Anyone who has followed the concussion-awareness movement in sports in the last year had to be expecting this when they saw Church back on the field so soon. And rightfully so...

Racism, plain and simple.

Clearly the white owners are pressuring the Latino GM to force the black manager to play the injured Anglo player in an effort to increase the percentage of healthy Japanese players in the game and thus win the support of New York's Asian community.

And if you can't see THAT, well...bummer for you.

That's a really nice thing to joke about, Yankee64. Really nice.

The interviews I heard said Church felt fine the next day but was a mess after the flight to Colorado. That was the Met announcers during the pre game the other night so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

Haha, seems like that's the explanation these days, so why not? In all seriousness tho, MLB has to have seen the backlash the NFL got about their head injury management.

That's actually a good comment from Yankee64. He's clearly being humorously facetious. Leave to the Mets to have some kind of controversy.

And ****... Why does every player on FBB team get hurt. i got 4 freakin points from him last week.

Yeah Johnny, he was clearly being sarcastic, and if you can't see that, then you need to relax and get a sense of humor.

@ IEFFINRULE... Wow, that's not funny. None of your rediculous comments are ever funny. Regardless, your last sentence is accurate.
