Draft's No. 1 pick is battling tendinitis
Derrick Rose participated in the night practice of Saturday's double sessions for Bulls' summer-league mini-camp despite battling tendinitis in his right knee. The No. 1 pick limped noticeably following the morning practice, his knee wrapped in ice, but vowed not to miss games at the Orlando Pro Summer League beginning Monday. "I've been coming 90 minutes early every day to get treatment," Rose said. "I'll be fine." Rose said the condition dates to his one season at Memphis and developed for noble reasons.

1. Almost every kid aspiring to make it in the NBA practices 4-5 hrs a day, so nothing new there
2. Not to miss orlando games isn't showing true heart, its called trying to be a hero and being dumb. REST YOUR KNEES!!!! He has nothing to prove in the Orlando leagues. Its for the likes of Amir Johnson's and Glen Davis's
3. Miami is being smart in holding back beasley.
In any case, if you are hardly 20 and have tendinitis, you got a problem long term. You can take it and write that down from a medico here.

My fault. I jinxed Beasley and him when I made that "Arthoscopic Surgery" joke on Beasley's injury page.
I hope this clears up before the start of the summer leagues.

I usually hear a play says he has knee tendinitis after he has been playing many games in the NBA for years and is at age of around 30. How many NBA games has Rose played? I have not watched NBA games for a while; did I miss something?
The Heats are extremely happy regardless what???s going on with Rose, because they feel so lucky to get #1 player in the draft without actually winning the lottery. Riley probably drank champagne all night after drafting; I have never seen a GM put out as much smoke screen as Riley did prior to the draft.

He got tendinitis because of the amount of time he spent practicing. Basically, he over trained. It shows he is extremely committed, but he also needs to learn when to stop training.

LOL are you people serious? We are talking about a little tendonitis something that is easily fixable, not to mention can be healed completely. His knees are a little inflamed NO BIG DEAL!!! We aren't talking about shoulder surgery or a blown ACL. He just has to cut down on his 4 or 5 hour workouts. I will take a little tendonitis over a fractured sternum any day. Heat fans will be crying when Rose plays in every game this season and wins rookie of the year!!!

First he's clocked for speeding at 100 mph and now this? I might be slightly worried if I were Chicago.

Sterne must be banging his head against the wall. Rose with tendonitis, Beasley with a cracked sternum a year after Oden gose out for his rookie year with a knee problem. Three of the most exciting players to come to the league in years, and they are all facing injury.
HeII... I am banging MY head against a wall. Hope these guys heal fast.
We're doomed.

No one is banging his head against the wall, and Miami is not celebrating.
Tendonitis is not a big deal. As Coach Steve and CyrilNoelke mentioned, it's just a sign of overtraining and nothing to worry about at all.
It's also probably just a mild genetic condition. When I was in college, one of my roommates was a slender athletic black guy whom I played one-on-one with. He said that he could not play more than 20 minutes at a time because of tendonitis, but during those 20 minutes, he was very good and had nothing wrong with him.
However, if Rose is limping, that's not a good sign. Usually tendonitis is not so bad that it causes a person to limp.

This is nothing new and I broke this story that he had knee tendinitis problems long before the draft. He went through the same thing in Memphis and had to miss practices for treatment.
Rose even slipped up once in a predraft interview when he himself mentioned that he practices alot and is treated for tendinitis and coach Cal implores him to slow it down before he hurts himself. I was puzzled that there was no big story about it as it was not a secret.
Every kid does not have these problems. Rose has had a tendinitis issue for a while now and has been having treatment all year at Memphis. This cant come to a surprise to Chicago.
