Norwegian team eyes Cooper
I am getting word from several contacts that Norwegian power Rosenborg is still very much interested in Dallas all-star forward Kenny Cooper and might be willing to increase its offer. One source believes a deal is in the works, while another said, "It's just a possibility, not a done deal yet."

I think he could do better then Norway, but if he gets over there and impresses then maybe he can land with a bigger team in a better league.

If an American player is going to Norway, Rosenborg isn't a bad destination, but hopefully he doesn't end up like many American players that go to Scandinavia and are never to be heard from again.

Rosenborg is a pretty decent club. They have a lot of talented youngsters and last year they almost made it into the knockout rounds of the champions league. Not a bad move at all!!!!

Rosenborg is the ONLY decent team in Norway. The rest are awful and Kenny would be a huge waste over there. You go from Man. U to that? Crap.

well, with Rosenborg its not really going to be an improvement in leagues, but they are the best team in Norway and a lot of scouts from across Europe have snatched players from them over the years...so, he may get a better chance to be noticed. But if he goes, he needs to work his **** off and dominate for that to happen--not just be another striker. He also needs to work more on his "in air" and "heading" skills"... He's taller than McBride but he has no vertical. With his size he could be stronger in the air.
I'm surprised that lower level German teams haven't approached Cooper. Many German teams like big strikers--but I am guessing that may shy away from American forwards and strikers after SO many have been there and failed over the years... This list is a long one.

Cooper dosen't have the talent to suceed in the premier league as a regular starter. There is a reason why he is in the MLS. He is a good striker, but would struggle to crack most premier league's first 11. He could be a good addition for a team like West Brom who look intent on staying up. He would be an excellent 3rd striker for them. He could also get at least 10-15 starts on that team. Rosenborg would be a good destination for him if he gets first team football. They play in the CL, and at worst will be in the UEFA Cup every year. He is still young so hopefully this move to Norway will help him become a more refined player, and let him break into a team in the Premier League.
