Chelsea switching interest to Kaka
Don't you just love billionaire magnates who think they can buy whatever they want? Consider the case of Roman Abramovich. The Russian owner of Chelsea FC apparently has his sights set on spending a mountain of cash on luring a star Brazilian to Stamford Bridge. Now that the quest for Robinho is dead thanks to Real Madrid shutting the door on a potential move, Chelsea has decided to go up in class in its chase for some Jogo Bonito. The next target is Kaka. The interest is nothing new but it appears that the Blues can smell blood in its quest to dethrone Manchester United and they know landing Kaka would give a HUGE boost to their EPL and Champions League title chances.

How do you think he made his money so he could afford to spend it?

Abamovich? He's an oil king in Russia, as well as owning several other businesses. As for this, I hope the news about Sheva coming back means that Kaka will go the other way. It'd be nice to have the money, but Kaka is what makes our offense click. Take him away and we could have 3 Shevas and they wouldn't score.

I'm pretty sure that Chelsea is just trying to corner the market on central midfield players. If they all play for Chelsea, then they can't play anywhere else, right?
That, or they're just trying to break Avram Grant's record set last year of 7 central midfielders on the pitch at one time.

Kaka won't be going to Chelsea but I do hope that Sheva goes to Milan. Chelsea needs to cut their losses there and move on with Drogba and Anelka.

La Gazzetta reported that the Sheva deal fell through. Too bad, I would have loved to see him in our colors again. He's so well suited to our play style and our league.

Damn. I really feel sorry for Sheva because it looks like he's not going to get his chance behind Drogba and Anelka.
Chelsea has to either loan him out or sell him for his own sake. Shevchenko is too good to just sit and collect dust.

This is absurd. Is Scolari going to stick with a 4-5-1 formation for the rest of the season?! Don't Chelsea arguably have one of the most talented if not recognized midfields in the world with Essien, Ballack, Lampard & Deco? So why the need to add Kaka? You would think with Anelka as the only "true" striker available on the club during Drogba's absence that Chelsea would look to add another striker or capable winger. Even as outlandish as Real Madrid's asking price for Robinho might be it at least makes more sense than going after Kaka. Chelsea's, or should I say Abramovich's sole motivation for getting Kaka would be to add the former World Footballer of The Year as the "headliner" in his already vast stable of stars, and not to necessarily make the team better. I guess Abramovich grown weary of the club's reputation of winning "ugly" and has decided to forgo substance for style while tossing common sense out the window.
