Ronaldinho moving to Barcelona
Recent Milan signing Ronaldinho is so emotionally attached to Barcelona that he is set to buy a new mansion in the city. Ronaldinho is well known for his party-loving lifestyle, and while he is not playing for Milan, plans to spend his free time shared between Barcelona and his hometown of Porto Alegre.

He needs to move to Milan and get to the training grounds and work all that fat off. He won't get any playing time if he comes out "playing" like he did in the Olympics.

Man, you got to see him in the Olympics? God damn USA olympic coverage is all about speed walking, table tennis, and open water swimming.

If you have ever been to Barcelona and then gone to Milan, you can completely see why he would not want to leave Barcelona. It is a great city on the beach with everything a great footballer would want. Not to mention that insane racism that runs rampant in Italy.

Having been to Milan a few times this is a city not really known for transvestites ....Is this a good move ?.....Rio I could understand ...

Gee Ronnie, this seems like a good idea. Let's alienate yourself from the team as much as possible and continue to get fatter.
Milan is going to regret this purchase.

Transvestites is Ronaldo's thing--not Ronaldinho. Still, is it a good move to stay in Barca? No, that's a lot of traveling back and forth. And he probably needs to break some of those bad habits (like twinkie eating, beer guzzling, and 3 servings at the grand buffet at the Barcelona Club Hilton). All those bad habits are in Barca. If he was smart (which he hasn't shown much "smartness" lately), he would realize that this is a good chance to start fresh, lose weight, get in shape, and retool his skills. Barca is a great city--but it might be a little "too great" for someone with as little self-discipline as Ronnie...
And for those of you who missed Ronaldinho in the olympics, don't worry, you didn't miss much. Here is how it went: Ronaldinho standing around, standing some more, making a pass while standing, walking slowly, wipe brow, stand some more, recieve ball, make quick pass, walk some more. Stand some more. Walk back. Stick out leg half-assedly. Slouch. Stand. Hold hands on side of hips. Walk. Stand. Slumping. Walk some more.
At no point did he actually "run" as we all know "running" to be.

D-Wreck is right on, you didn't miss much, the coverage of futbol has been mostly on Telemundo, but sadly Ronnie didn't show much if anything at the olympics, he had a fe flashes of his old self but he is slow, tired and still 20-30 lbs too heavy. I thought he might show more against Argentina but no. So now the gold is for Argentina to win or lose.
As for him living in Barcelona, like you guys said incredible city but focus on your new team, city and career. Seems like his lack of focus is still his biggest obstacle, too bad for Milan...

Brazilian stars have a shelf life of about five years. They're like a star that flares out after a brilliant light show. Dinho is nearing his end as a soccer god and it shows.
I saw him in the Olympix vs Argentina, and yes he did a lot of standing around. He had the best seat in the house for what promised to be a good game, cause he sure as hell didn't provide enough for Brasil to compete.
Who's next? Kaka? Pato?

I bet AC MIlan is really enthused to see how committed Ronaldinho clearly remains to his leisure time "activities."
Because said activities were obviously so very beneficial to his performance at Barcelona.
I said before that Ronaldinho would be a 40 million bust for Milan, and now I'm saying it again.

Simply shocking news!....yeah right! You can take the player out of the nightlife but you can't take the nightlife out of the player. 'Dinho simply doesn't know any other way to live. He's all about celebrating life to the fullest, and in excess - even when it's to the detriment of his career. He can't even bring himself to leave a place where he was constantly jeered and heckled in recent times and suffered the worst season of his life (in his own words). That just shows you how addicted Ronnie is to the nightlife. He can't bring himself to leave a place where he is no longer "wanted".
I'm no doctor but I believe that Ronnie has a very serious addiction to the nightlife/nightclub scene. And it will only get worse once his playing days are over. Sure, lot's of athletes like to party and love the limelight, but in Ronnie's case it's excessive to say the least. He could have gone down, (and still might) as one of the greatest footballers of all time. But in the end the nightlife was too addicting to him and something he couldn't let go, and meant more to him than the legacy he left in football. He is nontheless great but like Ali he could have been THE greatest!

Hate to depress you there, champ, but nbcolympics.com has been streaming all the games live and has them archived as well. They are doing it for all the events so if you've missed anything you can go watch it there. They also have been putting events On Demand and most cable systems have added a soccer only channel specifically for the Olympics.
You are who they talk about when they say 'check your local listings' apparently. :)

Dude...comparing LA to Barcelona is comical. I live in LA and have spent plenty of time in Barcelona and Barca wins every day of the week. LA isn't even in the top 4 best cities in the US much less the world.

You look the word "Overrated" in a dictionary and you'll find Ronaldinho in its definition.
He used to be great. That's about it. I am just waiting for the implosion he is going to have with Donga next time there's an International competition.

Barcelona is a lovely city, true enough. If I had millions, I might live there too. The problem for Dinho will be that there aren't many forgiving or forgetful fans in Barcelona. Even if Dinho is not to blame for Barcelona's big zilch last season - which I think he is not - nightlife is great when you are the toast of the town. It is remarkably less great when you are a scapegoat. Dinho had this same problem at PSG as well, apparently. He likes his nightlife.
I agree with the idea that some of these Brazilian players lose their minds after a few years, too. Next up is Robinho, I think. Particularly if he transfers to Chelsea. If the speculation I get from Italy is even half-right, Pato will steer clear of it thanks to his countryman, KaKa.
