Couture open to UFC return
Reigning UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture could return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship by year's end as part of an out-of-court settlement with the organization. Multiple sources close to the fighter, speaking exclusively to MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com), today said that Couture is willing to fight once more for the UFC, possibly before the end of the year, as a potential resolution to his ongoing legal battles with the fight promotion. However, Couture himself could not be reached for comment, and it's unknown if the UFC is even considering the offer at this point. According to one source, as part of Couture's concession to return the octagon, the 45-year-old UFC hall-of-famer would want to walk away "clear and free" from the organization after the bout.

I highly doubt he will fight Lesnar in November, I would love to see it happen. The weak HW division needs all the help it can get.

Having him finish his contract and then walk isn't going to help the HW division. I would be glad to se him fight LEsner though.

A Brock/Couture fight makes no sense.
If Brock loses, it derails the money-train without an upside since Couture walks away after the fight.
If Couture loses, it derails the draw for a Couture/Fedor fight since people would say Couture is washed up.
Can't see it happening.

Even ONE fight from Couture would help the division be interesting for a night...I couldn't care less about most of the other heavyweights, including Nogueria, who has looked awful in all of his UFC fights. I'm about as excited to see Nogueria vs. Mir as I am to see Kimbo vs. Shamrock.

Make it Couture vs Minotauro, it's the only fight that makes sense

Kind of hard since Kimbo fights for EliteXC.

Couture would relinquish his title before the fight, making it a non-title fight. If Couture wins he will get to fight Fedor in the UFC os some other promotion. If Lesnar wins he will get a title shot at winner of BIgNog/ MIr. And whomever loses still makes bank!
Win-Win for the fighters involved.

Everyone (couture, ortiz...) is back in talks with UFC because EXC is a joke and Affliction will probably be no better....They thought they would make a power play against Dana and jump to the competition for more money, but then they find out that the other companies aren't going anywhere....If CBS is thinking of dropping EXC and going with UFC, that's the nail in EXC's coffin...

I agree with Loki.
And the only match that makes sense is what Hyped said.

It will be interesting if UFC was to allow a Couture-Fedor fight while Fedor is still signed with Affliction....it could turn it into a WWE RAW vs Smackdown style where the leagues would feed off of each other by having their own leagues with the champions fighting each other for interleague belts....maybe in the form of an annual multi league PPV.....any sort of major once a year PPV would make tons of money by way of other PPVs that are held to determine who makes it to the BIG PPV! In turn, those smaller PPVs would be determined by what is shown on CBS, Spike, and Vs.
