Bulls to trade Duhon, draft PG
League sources have said Bulls third-year point guard Chris Duhon, who has one year at $3.25 million remaining on his contract, is on the trading block. The Bulls have secured a Saturday workout with Ohio State freshman Mike Conley Jr., the top-rated point guard in the June 28 NBA draft. Conley Jr. follows Texas A&M's Acie Law and Georgia Tech's Javaris Crittenton, the second- and third-rated point guards who worked out together last week at the Berto Center.

I suppose Chicago wants to stay small, quick and gritty!? I think we see where that will get them. 2 years ago, Arenas killed them (bigger PG); last year they had a decent run against the Heat (Shaq and Wade..a dynamic guard, not that tall, but physical); this year, the Pistons let them come back only to dispose of the Bulls in Chicago (big guards). It is what it is...they're not getting closer to being a contender. The same thing keeps happening. I forgot, the big guards of Jersey dropped Chicago from a 2 seed to a 4 seed and a 2nd round against Detroit. Unless Chicago is drafting for another team, this will just continue a pattern of just not being good enough.

This is exactly what the team needs. Another point guard. Who needs low-post scoring?

Hinrich holds down the point, not sure if Conley would be a good scoring pg, Acie Law would be. But really, Duhon isn't a bad backup. Maybe the bulls are looking at taking the best available player - not a need position.

Just also read Bulls worked out Brewer and Thornton. If Brewer is on the board you have to take him, they say he's the next Scottie Pippen - and if so, there's not better place for him. Now Thornton, I haven't kept up with this guy, but all the feedback is that he's a great talent, and polished. I even read he had the highest vertical of the workout sessions - 41.5, for a 6'8" Forward? WHOA. Oh-did I mentione the 7' wingspan?

Coach,
Do you feel comfortable with drafting another wing player that's not polished or just taking the best available player? Are the Bulls good enough to do that? They still have major issues. Unless, you move Deng to the backcourt, where would Brewer or Thornton play? Depth?...I guess, but that just speaks to yet another guy who plays hard, gives effort/energy that's a streaky shooter at best and is easily neutralized when it counts. If Detroit is still an obstacle, the Cleveland is proving to be worse....big guards and big inside. Cleveland simply needs to address ways to score more consistently. Chicago needs to address its undersized backcourt and its undersized interior. I hope this is just a smoke screen.

K11: Valid points. I don't see this coming to fruition. What do they think they'd get for Chris Duhon? I don't see how this gets them into the Conference Finals.

L-A-K-E-R-S need to get on this guy. He's just the point guard we need. Had we had him on our team this year, we prolly could've been a 5 seed and at least got out of the first round.

I think Chicago should definitely go big in the draft. Jianlian seems to be a good choice. Their backcourt is pretty good, but if they however want to make changes, maybe they could trade Gordon and Nocioni (sign and trade) for a scoring pf. A great trade would be Gordon, Nocioni and the pick for KG and Marka Jaric (Wolves want to get rid of him)
Starting 5 then: Hinrich, Deng, Thomas, KG, Wallace = best team in the east!

I would say 1st round Lottery, you take what you need or that player you just feel you have to have. 2nd round, you take best available or add depth.
For the Bulls, #9 pick, I don't think I would go for a PG-they have Hinrich and I would keep Duhon. I would look to draft Thornton-PF, assuming the first 5 picks go as expected. Remember, Bulls Paxson says Thabo must play more minutes next season-and he's a huge SG. Deng it seems has grown into a good SF + Tyrus Thomas spreading his wings between SF and PF. With that said, if Brewer is on the board - you take him, he plays SG/SF, putting up 30 pts and 13 rebounds per game in High School, solid #'s in college as well.
Gordon is a 6th man SG, the Bulls version of Manu. Keep him for as long as you can.

well the Bulls need a power foward cause P.J. Brown is pretty old, and they could give the lakers duhon and a second draft choice for Bynum and mold him to be more defensive, because he is already decernt at offense. But what the Bulls need is a power foward Joakim Noah would be good for them

Duhon and 2nd round pick for bynum?!? Never gonna happen, all the bulls could get for duhon is cook. besides they do not need bynum and lakers will use him themselves or to trade a superior player to duhon

The bulls need a low post person and they want Collison so trade duhon for collison. It's not glamourous but it fits the need of the team

igo - I keep Nocioni, he fell off at the end of the season, but playing at PF (in replace of PJ Brown) should give him some good minutes and open looks. If I drafted Thornton to play PF, Thornton would come off the bench - and limited minutes similar to what we saw with Tyrus.
Also, in the 2nd round - maybe the Bulls can swap their two picks for one, and move up to snag Aaron Afflalo!

If Brewer is there the Bulls have to take him. I like Conley Jr. because he takes it to the hole but he is small just like the rest of the Bulls guards now. If Brewer isn't avaiable I hope they take Acie Law because he can score and he is a little bigger than the rest of our guards. As a Duke fan I love Duhon, but I think it would be better for him and the Bulls if they traded him and drafted a bigger guard.
